Kirk, I've been really busy but I did try superglue on the legs and it held, I'm going to file a bit around the break then paint them. I go to the Doc in the morning and hopefully I'll get to work on it some in the afternoon.

Jay, Hellpig is right, I have small cups mounted to the wall that I keep full of ground shell, they will eat it as needed, this keeps them from having brittle bones and the calcium is needed to help build egg shells.
I also have a small feeder filled with ground granite Because chickens have no teeth they need grit to grind there food.
My chickens free range plus they get all of the table scraps so they probably get enough calcium and grit on there own but they have it if they want it.
After I carve a turkey I take the carcass and all of the scraps, or a ham bone and the fat out to them, they love it.

You don't get the oyster shell in the feed mix? So from your last few posts, it sounds like you're up and walking? That was quick if I'm reading things right.

I dont add it to the feed, that's just me, I do add dog food to the feed, extra protein.

I had a pre surgery meeting with the Doc and he said I could require 4 to 6 weeks of pt depending on what he had to do when he got in there.
I was scheduled to go to a surgical clinic at 2:00 on friday the 20th they called at 12:30 and said they had an A/C fire, and for me to go to the hospital and check in, they got me done and home by 10:30 the Doc was busy trying to not cancel anyone so I havent talked to him since surgery, but I got up Saturday the 21st at 5:00 and walked to the chicken coop with a cane, I got rid of the cane by noon and my knee hasn't felt this good in 8 or 9 years. I'm going to see the Doc at 10:45 today and schedule the right knee!

I havent had time to work on the horses, the neighbors have been keeping me busy. I did get a chance to get a couple pics of the repairs, in progress, some still need some filing to smooth them out.

They still need a little work, the paint is gold leaf paint from a sign painter it's got more shine than the metal coating that was on them.

Thanks folks, I read every one of your birthday wishes to her!

Don, I had bilateral total replacement about six years ago, they never worked very well and made lots of noise. The Doc went in and in his words, (removed a ton of scar tissue and cauterize everything). I'm going back on March 3rd to get the right one done.
Strouty, me either 🥴

I have been lost for the last week.

Happy belated birthday to Pat!

Sounds like things are happening on the homestead.
I need to get moving again. I feel like every time I look at any project it does that Hitchcock thing and stretches to infinity.

I'm going to my Doctor on Wed 16th for a shot of huyaluoric (spell check) acid in my left knee. It's a once a year deal. Hope it works as it is down to bone on bone.

I can really tell that Im out of shape, my left knee has less pain than before, the right is ready to go get fixed.
How are you doing?

I'm doing pretty good. Spent all day yesterday, and most of this morning with the BiL. He had his left shoulder replaced yesterday. Crazy part is that it was done outpatient. Took him home around noon, and made sure he got through the night ok.

Arthritis take out the cartilage? Is that what we have to look forward too?
