Kay, When you get the idle high enough to stay running you can't put it in gear!
think I found a new carb for 24 bucks.

Spent the day working on my F150, it developed a miss in hole 3, about a week ago! ordered a set of plugs from rock auto, installed them today, I also swapped coil pack 3 and 1, just in case, three is under the plenum! Developed a miss on 3,6, and 1, ran like ****. Went to my local parts store and got another set of plugs. Back to an intermittent miss on hole 3. Injectors all tested fine! Went back and got one injector and installed it on #3, all clear, no missfires, no codes, best the truck has ever run. Threw a set of rear pads on just because. Both sets of plugs were autolite. Anyone else ever have this happen?
I also sprayed a can of PB Blaster all over the Mule!
Then I hung the shutters/doors in the basement and filled all of the nail holes, sanded and put two coats of paint on everything!
It's been a busy day.
Were supposed to weld trike frames tomorrow!

Before, as usual I forgot the after pic!

Keep that OEM carb. Just My opinion but not would not even try a China carb on that ! If need be go through the original carb and clean it. Freind has owned an old Mule for many Years idle's high slap the peddle quick it slows down enough to put in gear. Keep telling Hin to look at it but everyone that uses it knows the routine. Oh, and by the way I will give You the first **** award $800 and it runs and drives! Hell, I would roll the dice on that.

It rained all day so I stayed home and worked in the shop.
20250131_165126.jpg
I cleaned up the shop a bit and started on the Mule.
The right front was locked up, I pulled the drum and found the brake shoe lining loose and wedged into the other shoe. I cleaned it out and put it back on for now, a complete brake job is coming.
20250131_164701.jpg
The gas tank has some rust, I pulled it out and will clean it with muriatic acid and give it a paint job while it's out.
20250131_170603.jpg
There is some rust in the fender brackets! So.
20250131_174238.jpg
They got cut off, The roll bar unbolts so it came off also for now.
20250131_180028.jpg
I sent pics and measurements to Alex, he is coming down tomorrow for a masonic degree so he will bend me two new ones and bring them to me.
20250131_181753.jpg
The motor and trans work fine, the carb is crappy,
Screenshot_20250131_101928_Amazon Shopping.jpg
This kit was $32 dollars, it's on my kitchen table now. Plus a new air filter.
I'm hoping the weather man is right he says 70s next week, if so I will get it pressure washed.
20250131_170552.jpg
Of course I have to put my spin on it, the front cowel is busted up and someone tried to fiberglass it but didn't know what they were doing!
The blue one is from an EZGo golf cart. With a little finessing I think it may fit. I have to get the rest of the rubber flaps off of the frame before I can test fit it!

So this is how I left it for today!

I have a lodge meeting/special practice on Thursday, the boys asked if I could smoke some chicken!
20250204_181504.jpg
I cleaned and inspected the smoker and found the fire pot was burnt out, after a price check I built a new one and installed it.
20250204_181456.jpg
I even washed the outside! Woohoo!
20250204_130446.jpg
The shelf on the front was a bit rough looking!
20250204_181423.jpg
I gave it a real quick once over.
I use fruit wood pellets, but several of the smoker guys I watch are using a mix of fruit wood and hickory, so next trip to wally world I'm going to buy some and try it out.
Headed to the shop now, hopefully I'll get to spend the day working on the Mule! Hopefully I'll remember to take pics!

Ok! So I didn't get to the Mule today! Seems like everything else is getting in my way, again! It's time to get some seeds started for the garden.
20250205_165054.jpg
Pat asked if we could have a raised bed to plant some stuff in so I started on one. I'm too old to reach the ground so we're bringing it up to my level, lol.
I'm not even going to say what I'm going to do tomorrow.

Got the chicken finished, I tried a new recipe, since I can't find my favorite recipe! They were a little hot but still good.
20250206_154010.jpg
I flushed the fuel tank with muriatic acid, it had some rust in spots, installed new plug, carb, fuel pump, filters, hoses, and air filter. There is no muffler on it but I think I have one that will work, I'll install it and change the oil and filter tomorrow, then try to start it. There is no seat so I will start making one after I see that it will run and Idle.

Welded trike frames yesterday and this morning! Nothing too exciting.
20250211_182006.jpg
I set up a grow table in the basement this afternoon, it's time to plant some stuff. I'm going to start some squash, cucumbers, peppers, and some other stuff, just haven't decided what yet. My buddy John has tomatoes and cabbage started in his greenhouse for me.
Half of the gardeners here have planted there root veggies Already.
Were going to weld again tomorrow.

600 miles sure makes a difference. I don't start for 6 weeks yet.

Back to the plugs, I highly doubt Motorcraft plugs are Motorcraft, or that Delcos are really Delcos. IF I REMEMBER right (big if), I thought Delcos were NGKs and Motorcraft are really Champions. But please don't quote me on that. On the Mule front, I'm not jealous, but you still ****.

Kay, Howie, April 1st is our expected last frost date so by the time I get everything going I should be right on time. I'm probably a week or so early right now but I haven't dropped the seeds just yet, I'm still preparing stuff.
I did buy four grape vines and four blueberries that have really taken off, they are on the back porch in buckets!

Kirk, I agree with you, everyone is throwing stuff at me about plugs and I don't know anymore. It used to be AC in GM, autolite or Motorcraft in Ford, I never had any Chrysler knowledge so !,and NGK if it swam to get here! The F150 is running better than it ever has, my gas mileage has gone up about a mile, it's running mid to upper 18s now, 17.7 was the best ever before.

Except that one time! Lol.

I had to get a haircut and pick up meds from wallyworld, while I was out I stopped at LaserJays and picked up trike parts,

We worked on a new idea today, someone approached us wanting foot controls, we have a spot for people with different needs, I have a problem saying disabilities because most folks I have worked with that have a difference can't be classified as having a disability, anyway this guy asked so we have a working prototype that will be built out next week and will go to Florida with us, just in case the guy shows up! Tonight we are ordering parts for a drift trike, we have been being hit hard for them so it's time to get one going.
Emerald coast cruise in is three weeks from today!

They have a few projects started. Saw some very nice work in progress.
We sent the foot control trike to powder coat today. They have a gas trike there also, so Monday we should have two frames to build.
Do they produce the fake vettes and whatnot there?
