Chico is the oldest resident at the Ark, while Pat and I were working tonight the phone rang and the answering machine picked up and a lady wants to adopt him so she is coming in next week and if Chico wants to leave with her he can, if he dosnt want to go out the door with her, she cant have him. Sounds crazy but that's how it works.

That is not a bad policy. I have had 2 rescue dogs that picked me out. Leo was a Jack Russel that actually climbed the gate to his pen to get on eye level with me. He was a traffic dog.

Carmel was at a Petco rescue day in a pen next to the door. When I came in I patted her on the head, then went off to get whatever it was we were getting. She dragged the pen across the floor to follow me. She is 16 now, and still my baby.

I think it's a great policy, people also have to come in two times to visit the animals with different staff on duty. They have denied people because it didnt look like a good fit.
We are almost finished, Pat is going to finish the painting tonight. I need to find some trim for the closet.

The sink fit nice
20210228_121421.jpeg
I had to make all new clips to hold the sink down
20210228_123435.jpeg
I got lucky on the sink having little holes punched around the lip. I put a machine nut under the lip and threaded the bolt from a toggle bolt into the nut, I cut the head off of the bolt and installed the clip and another nut. I got 12 of them around the perimeter.

Thanks guys,
If I were able to work I would be doing this full time. All of the people at the Ark have treated Kayla like family for the past two years and several of the younger group come to the house for game night and firepit so it was a fun project to help them be able to function better while they are working.
Tomorrow it's back to my shop. [emoji106]

So far yes I do,
I unpacked the box and had one of the four pieces of glass broke. I called them and in a couple minutes she had my order pulled up and she shipped a replacement piece.
Cant wait to get back to the pumps.
Turbo, do you have a pic of your pump that you can post.

I went to the scrap yard this morning for a look, they had some nice 2" copper pipe, and this electric cart. I got the cart, it has independent drives on both sides. For ten dollars I will take a chance on it for a future project I have waiting.20210303_131339.jpeg

I also got some more done to the handrails.
I dont have any plans for tomorrow and Pat is going to the grocery store so I'm hoping to get the rails done and delivered to powder coat and then get back to my gas pump.

JIM: have you seen Don Long's sandblasting set up? I think he cut a shipping container in half and he closes the door and I think that's his cabinet where I think he also spray paints in there too. TOO BIG?

looks like you are so busy, but since you have a choice on what you'd like to get up and do I bet you are happy doing all this so keep up the great work!!

Yes, I saw Don's blast booth and I love it, my neighbor gets machine crates from time to time, I got one last year and made a garden shed out of it I believe it was 17'x 8' it holds all of the lawn care stuff. I'm hoping to get another one and that was a thought to make a walk in blast booth but for now we got a tank.
Most days I get to choose what I do and it is great, some days I get a curveball like today, the plan was to get the handrails done but the bil had brake problems and we had to get him back on the road, cant have him not working.
I did get a little done on the handrails before cocktail time derailed the work.

Well it happened again, a buddy of mine called and said his mailbox was killed in a drive by.
So he wanted to know if I could build him a new one and I told him sure and to make the check payable to the Ark.
So I got it knocked out in a couple hours.
20210305_130659.jpeg
I found this pipe in the stock pile out back.
20210305_133126.jpeg
It had a bad cut on the end
20210305_133338.jpeg
Trued it up and coped it.
20210305_141339.jpeg
Found another piece of pipe in the pile.
20210305_161258.jpeg
I cut out and drilled two mounting plates.
20210305_151116.jpeg
I cut out four gussets and coped them. I welded all four together and cut them at one time.
20210305_152452.jpeg
Cleaned up and adjusted.
20210305_152502.jpeg
Welded them in place.
