Should have the top two within the hour and the bottom one in a couple more hours, there are several that have pipped a hole like the bottom one, that let's them breath and get stronger to cut a ring all the way around like the top two are doing.

That's not bad. Way back when, we figured 10% loss for chicks, then about 10% more don't make it to adulthood. It meant I threw about a 5 gallon pail of dead birds onto the **** pile every day. Much better than in the wild, where you figure maybe 5-10% make it to adulthood.

Kay, especially since the hens were 7 to 8 months old. I'm happy with this run, I want to go back to my old incubator for the next run, it's analog but I had a better feel for it.

The little guys are really doing good.

I got the garden tilled today, we're going tomorrow and pick up some seed and try to get some of the planting done before the rain comes in Thursday.

Now I need to find about 300 ft. of pex so we can get water to it.

I follow one of the farmers here on GJ and one of his best decisions was to allow a huge chicken company to erect a barn on his property. He has to raise 42000 chicks to adult in about 6 weeks and then they go to the fryer and another batch comes in to raise again.

Now he doesn’t buy nearly as much fertilizer. Your garden plants will love your chicken stuff. And I’m sure you’ll love the fresh veggies.

Have fun with the few you have that will probably live long lives and lay eggs for breakfast. AND maybe get named too.

I’m guessing humidity isn’t too bad yet? We’re just getting out of the drizzle season here but plenty of rain still to happen until maybe July.

Kirk, didn't measure it but 50x100ish, and a couple of 6x100ish along the fence for corn and melons.
Jay, it's a little warmer than normal, it should be in the 70s
Drives, You don't name something that you might eat! Lol. there are over 120,000 fryers on the property right behind my place, there on a total liquid diet for six weeks then off to pilgrems pride they go. I got the poop!

OK, Pat and I got a bit done this afternoon.

We planted a pound each of yellow and red onions,1 row of peppers jalipinos, bell, banana, 2 rows of crook neck squash, 1 row of zucchini, 1 row of cabbage,2 rows of cucumbers, and there's more, I'm just too tired to remember.
We need to go to rural king and buy more wire, it will have to be fenced to keep the critters out.

Didn't get any pics yet,(still off my game) but I built a fence to keep the chickens out of the yard and flower beds, Pat threatened to have a neighborhood chicken BBQ, they ate her hastas and tulips.
One of my sheds decided to leak, it's a shipping container and a seam opened up, so I started building a roof over it today, I'll get some pics tomorrow.

I'm still about a half a bubble off, but I'm pushing through!

Yesterday I had to dig banana trees and divide them, that was a job, the root system exists of rhizomes and fibrous roots, the rhizome was the size of two 5 gallon buckets and very hard to cut.

I divided it into five trees.

Three are here and one back by the storage shed, Dude got the fifth one!

I started working on the shed roof again today but! I didn't have electric in that area and Dewalt was going dead faster than damnit.

So I decided to change up and be a sparkey today!

When I added the right lean-to to the shop I ran a 15 Amp and a 20 Amp wire out the back knowing I would need power later! So I added a junction box and some conduit, the four gang is the 20 Amp circuit, I will add more conduit and outlets across the back wall later. I put all of this in conduit because the squirrels are really bad behind the shop, I have had to dispatch a few for chewing things back there!

The 15 Amp circuit goes to the existing wiring that was in the carport from when it was next to the house.

There is an on/off switch and a motion detector on that corner that operates the four ft. LED in the top center. And an outlet so that I can run the corded circular saw.

Last week I put up some fence to keep the chickens out of the flowers.


It doesn't seem to bother the girls, they kinda roll with the flow.

I bought a new toy, best deal I ever got on marketplace hands down! It has 237 hours on the clock, no spark but great compression. The complete electrical system is 140 bucks so no worries!
