It's been very busy around here, just not with the things that we like to share here!

We got the mess cleaned up from Thanksgiving and switched to Christmas mode,

I let Pat have one of her gifts early, her favorite movie is Christmas vacation, Imagine that!
White Russian, she doesn't like egg nog.
I have ordered parts and a load of steel for the next project, a friend of mine has convinced me to take one of my ideas and market it, so he and I are in the design faze right now and hope to have a working prototype by the end of January. This has been keeping me busy but I'll have pics soon.

Sorry for the bad pics, the sun was just right!!!
I went to a swap meet last week and saw this old building in Georgetown TN. Until last year it was Jerry's garage, he was a friend and finally retired, it has been being cleaned and painted for most of the summer,
Unbeknownst to me another friend of mine bought it and last week he had the details and letting applied to the building, it will be interesting to see how Greg develops this property.

Alex stopped by today, there is an old lift truck sitting in the woods that he bought from Donnie.
20231223_161845.jpg
He wanted to charge his batteries so we put them on my chargers and went for a ride.
20231223_161910.jpg
There's a bunch of stuff out there.
20231223_161916.jpg
Anyway we got the batteries hot and went back to the woods, we got it running, it's been out there about 20 years.
20231223_161902.jpg
Had to air up the tires.
Once I pulled him out of the rut it had sunk into he was off and running.

All and all it went well, we made it to the trailer and a tie rod end broke, we made a redneck repair and got it loaded, he left for Birchwood, I locked the gate and went to the house.

Who painted that for you?

Did you think about copyright infringement?
Andy, I'm not sure but it was probably some vagrant that came to the door looking for half a handout.

He told me it's OK as long as I don't try to sell it. There's a serial number on it but I don't think it has a tracking chip.

It's been really busy around here, just not the stuff that y'all want to see, lol.
I did get a load of firewood cut and stacked In the shop, but a few pieces were just a bit too big so I fixed it.
20240103_153701.jpg
I turned this piece of 1½"round bar down to .740 x 1" on one end.
20240103_153706.jpg
It fits into my arbor press.
20240103_153711.jpg
I upgraded the 20 ton jack to one with air assist.
20240103_161021.jpg
Then I welded a hammer head onto the adaptor that I turned.
20240103_161826.jpg
Yep, I made a wood splitter!
I try to only cut limb wood that will fit my stove because I don't like splitting wood but we got a little overzealous with this last tree!
I'm going to help Dude pull the axles out from under his semi trailer today, he is going to use it for a storage building, I don't know why, but that's what he wants to do!!!
Pics to follow.

Well that went so fast I didn't have time to take a pic. Dude had a man come over last week and cut the u-bolts and spring bolts. Donnie drove his yard truck down and picked the trailer up by the ICC bumper, Dude hooked a chain around the axle and I pulled them out with the tractor! Done, now I back home!
We're going to the world of wheels in the morning, Dude and me always go on Friday morning, before they open to the public, we get to bs with everyone before it gets crowded. Some friends of ours are doing an orphan car display this year, it should be interesting. Dude will probably have to work the rest of the show, like always they are calling for sever rain on Saturday and Temps in the 20s for Sunday, I can't remember ever having good weather on the WOW weekend, it's always bad.

Brilliant. You just saved me from shelling out for a log splitter, for those few bitchy logs.

I went to WOW this weekend, saw a lot of old friends and met a few new ones.
20240105_112015.jpg
Jack is always there with his Duster, I had the (Gold Duster) version!
20240105_111235.jpg
This one is a Dave Kindig collaboration.
20240105_111249.jpg
Typical Kendigit fashion, he made a truck from a delivery, the owner is a local boy.
20240105_111555.jpg
One of My favorite series the AD series, I have literally built dozens of these back in the day. This one is a three window. My Daily driver for almost eight years was a 49 on a 73 chassis, Catalina Blue with black interior!
20240105_110156.jpg
My other favorite series, just known as the C10s, I still have one of these waiting on me to get busy, mine has a 454 and 4x4!20240105_104031.jpg
This 54 chevy was done right, it had a bunch of mods that the average guy would never pick out (like the 55 chevy eyebrows) but made it a really interesting car, I loved it.
20240105_102432.jpg
Deliverys always make me smile, I always wanted to build one but never got the chance.
20240105_102902.jpg
One more AD for the road, only a three window also but still nice.
Every time I go to one of these it makes me want to start building again, then I go home and remind myself why I don't anymore!
It was a good show, and the best weather I can ever remember, usually it's raining!
