Roger, never used a guard, the first time ever in my 66 years that I've had more than a nick. I had just put a new 6" disc on it. The tube shifted and pulled the grinder out of my hands.

Dose yours try to rotate the tool in your hand? I would like to find something, I had one explode yesterday, it didn't touch me but scared the **** out of me.

My Lenox blade doesn't put out any more gyroscopic action than any other wheel that I use. If you're using 6" wheels on a 4.5" grinder, with no guard, on an unclamped tube, it's a wonder you haven't been nailed before.

I agree with you 100%, I have known this for years. It boils down to old habits, that's the way I was taught back in the day. Time to reevaluate! I used to be 10' tall and bullet proof, but I must have forgot to pay my dues! I purchased a chop saw last year, Im going to start using it more.

thanks, Im feeling ok today, just some swelling. I got lucky as hell, me and the Doc looked at the tenons and ligament thingies, He said I did a good job exposing them, no nerve damage, I can feel my fingertips.

Pat and I went to three estate sales today, I found a crown wood scribe for 10 bucks, couldn't believe it.

This was the last day of a four day sale! How was this not snatched up.
Second sale was a bust, third sale was a bag sale, 5 bucks for everything you can stuff in a Walmart bag, there were three parts cabinets and a tool table, I had to double bag mine, lol! Boy did they loose there ****'s on me!
Then I got to work in the garden.



Did some weeding, thinned out some stuff.
Then I had to go check out Jeff's shop, we have been working on it a bit.



Ezera came Friday and did the floor, Alex came on Tuesday and finished the mezzanine. Jeff was touching up the paint. I think Pat and Rebecca (Jeff's wife) are going to help him assemble cabinets tomorrow. I'm going to go build trikes.

I spent most of the day notching pipe, we quit at 4:00, Donnie wanted to mow before the rain starts again!
So I went back to my shop and worked on the engine run stand.

This is the piece that I was cutting when I was attacked by the rogue grinder!

I like the way it looks but I'm not sure I like the tin that I put in for the dash.

The plan is to start the 454 so prospective buyers can hear it run. Then I'll sell the stand!
So the plan is to build three frames tomorrow so we can get two of them to powder coat and the third is going to a chrome shop.
