Hey Jim, take it easy on the knees for a couple days, you'll catch up soon enough!
Yep, the Doc and Pat tag teamed me yesterday! No this, no that!
I can't even walk to the bathroom alone! They said they would remove the shock collar on Monday!

Because you're not busy enough. lol
Well!
Did I mention that uncle willie has another Tahoe! Maybe another road trip!

Well! Got myself a little vacation this morning!

20250429_113546.jpg
Had a cut off wheel come apart.
20250429_131838.jpg
Doc said a week with a splint,
That's going to leave at mark!
Guess I'll spend a few days organizing tools and sweeping the floor.
Jeff got a mezzanine installed in his shop yesterday, they finished it today, I was going to help him load stuff up there, I'll get to sit on the lift truck and lift stuff up to him.
Jim, now you know why I don't miss my left arm. I used it for target practice with every sharp tool I owned before I got rid of it.
[EDIT: Didn't realize you are a lefty so maybe that comment doesn't make sense. A lot of people ask me if I was right handed before I lost my left arm and I always answered: "If I wasn't, I am now!"]

Bob! I guess this is injury central!
The Doc got pretty aggressive on the knees this time, he said I was by far his most frequent flyer! And he didn't like that!
20250727_101548.jpg
The finger healed nice but I did clip a tendon in my thumb, I just can't hich hike going left anymore!
They are the badges of our age!
Me and Kirk just didn't want Shorty feeling like no one was listening to his safety seminars!

May I propose something along the lines of a Cushman Eagle? i.e. Something for grown-ups?
This one will be along the lines of the trike, reason being, interchangeability of existing parts.
But!

I am doing my research. I have always loved Cushman's and I do plan to build something on those lines. Keeping my trike line fresh helps me be able to build the stuff I like.

I left the house for the first time today since Friday.
I went to the basement to work at my desk. I was reading up on a program that I have been wanting to use, I had an itch on my calf, scratched it and came back with a handful of blood! Damn incision on my knee blew out! Filled my sock with blood. Came back to the living room, cleaned it up and put a pressure dressing on it, called the Doc! They said thats what they would have done also. All is well, Pat has put her Drill Sgt. hat back on. I have been banished to my recliner for an undetermined amount of time! Geeze!!!

Jim, I believe the itch is a sign of healing. I had eye surgery decades ago. The surgeon disconnected, moved and re-connected the muscle that controls side to side movement of my right eye (the nerve controlling the outer muscle was severed in the train-kissing party). The eye started to itch real bad and I could see something black in the corner of the eye. I asked Liane to flick it out for me and she got real close and backed off quick with a: "Oh ****! It's a stitch and I'm not touching it." For two days I thought seriously about taking it out myself.

Sometimes stabbing or whacking yourself somewhere else on your body will make you forget the itch. At least it usually works for me even if it isn't intentional.

You guys make me laugh! Thanks!
I got up to go to bed at 11:30 and it blew again, I got blood all over the carpet in the bedroom. Pat had saved the elastic wraps that the surgery center sent me home in, she made a proper pressure dressing and wrapped my left knee, and we got to bed about 1:00. and just to make things really weird at 3:30 this morning the carport lights came on and the hatch on Pats explorer was up! So she went to inspect things, while I stood at the top of the stairs in my tidy whites, offering backup with a tiny 38 pistol! She finally came back but still can't figure it out. We reviewed the cctv footage and nothing, it was closed, then it wasn't. So here I sit in timeout in my recliner, (done had one nap before 9:00) waiting for a callback from the Doc.
Im upset that I can't move, I have to many things going on for all of this idle time. And yes, Im afraid my projects will get together and procreate! It happens!
I hear you Bugnut!
Pat did go to the basement and bring me a laptop, I am trying to figure out how to (youtube to MP3) music, at least then I could build a new playlist for the car shows and cruise ins, Im getting tired of Chubby Checker!

Sorry about the setback. Maybe some Dreaded Desk Work you can knock off? A hardware bin that you put off sorting? Some design sketches for that minibike? You've got the perfect excuse to read or binge watch something. Gotta be better than 7.5 hours in the ER!

We're your friends. We don't mind waiting on more adventures. We just want you healthy and back on your feet. :coffee:

Im calling this a good day! Slept pretty good, woke up with no issues, had a pot of coffee, Pat made a killer breakfast. Thanks guys!
Jeff called, he wants to look at my superduty, its making a noise. Told him whenever he wants it come get it.
I have been binge watching the makers channel on roku. Jimmy Diresta is pretty cool. Couple others are interesting! A couple of them I don't understand at all!

Glad to hear you had a good day. You deserve it. You might also like Bourbon Moth. Pretty goofy. Kind of a cross between Diresta and Red Green.

I like most of them except for Tyler Bell, his stuff just dosnt fit the show format, Laura Kampf is a bit ridiculous, Christiana Felgueiras dose nice work but she just doesn't interest me for some reason!
Jason Hibbs is funny after you understand him. Paul Jackman is probably most likely me, we both build ridiculous stuff!
They do need to step it up and get more content, I like watching the channel but I've seen most of it already!
I keep searching roku, I know theres more stuff there!
Im going to unwrap the knees today, the wraps get irritating and I need to get cleaned up, you can only sponge bathe so long! Tmi! Maybe they wont leak today!

Finally got out of the house today. My nephew is raising his grand kids, knox is the oldest grandson, he's 15yr old. And he is a bit like me in that he has bought himself a 95 Chevy truck! Whoo hoo! Anyway it dosnt run very well and they have been asking me questions, so Pat and I went over there today, so far its biggest problem is the thing needs a tune up, so I got him what he needed and it actually is running pretty good right now.

Its kind of rough, I wish they would have took me when they bought it!

I finally got a pardon from the warden/Drill Sgt., I was allowed to mow the grass this morning and boy did it need it. I started out with my zero turn, it stalled about three times before it finally broke the belt, so I went and got out old trusty, my 2000 JD LT133, it took a whole lot longer to mow but its done!

Thats the tiny little hole that caused all of the problems! It looks small but it sure can pump the fluid quick.
Tomorrow is going to be a bad day, I have to be at the lodge at 6:30 we have to cook breakfast for our official visit, its a yearly grading exercise that every lodge dose. Breakfast is served at 8:00 if your hungry come on down and eat with us. Then everyone else goes to Ocoee lodge in Benton for there official visit, lunch at 12:00 same deal! The bil and me will be headed to Athens, we're doing a cruise in at Smalls Diner from 2:00 to 6:00 for there 65th anniversary! Then its back to the lodge for stated meeting at 7:00, they will eat dinner at 6:00, taco bar, same deal there also, show up and they'll fed you!

8:00, I was in my recliner asleep!

Pat got up at 4:30, got her shower and made coffee, she woke me at 5:30, we made it to the lodge by 6:30, and suprise to me about 10 other people drug in about the same time.
Pat started the gravy on the stove, Remington started the sausage on the Blackstone, Kathren, Remington's wife started biscuits, I started cracking eggs, and mixed up pancake batter, as we progressed through things Dalton started making pancakes.

We served over 50 people.
Scrambled eggs, biscuits n gravy, sausage, diced potatoes, sliced tomatoes, blueberry pancakes, and all the drinks.

We had our meeting and finished about 11:30, went home and changed clothes, and headed to Athens.
We got setup up and ready to go by 1:40, the official kick off was 2:00 but things were already in high gear by then.
20250809_142742.jpg
It was a bit crowded, but everyone was happy and having a good time.
20250809_142720.jpg
Thats Jeff giving the look! He said by 2:30 they had already gone through 100 lbs of hamburger meat.

Jeff's son Austin is a musician, we kept switching from him singing live to our canned music, it worked out perfect, he started the last set about 5:15 so we broke down our equipment and had things ready to go home by 6:00, it was a very long day but was also a lot of fun.

I went to the Doc yesterday and got the stiches out of my knees. He said Ill see you in a year! All good.

I have a nephew (Jr.) that wound up with three of his grandkids! One of them is knox a 15yr old young man that got shafted when it came to parents.
Knox is excited to be getting his driver's license, so him and Jr.
Went out and bought an old truck, Knox is all about the trucks!
20250812_114910.jpg
Its not exactly what I would have bought, but they bought it.
20250812_114939.jpg
It has plenty of problems!
They had it at there house under a car port, where they were working on it without any tools, then a neighbor started complaining that when they paint the truck overspray might drift onto there car! Geeze!
So I told them to bring it to me!
20250812_114943.jpg
I started on the left floorboard, First I took a hammer and beat the **** out of it!
20250812_121842.jpg
Then I made a couple of cuts.
20250812_131215.jpg
I went out in the woods and found a matching piece of metal and formed a patch panel.
20250812_141048.jpg
It fit pretty good! I found another weak spot and had to add another small piece.
20250812_144047.jpg
I then just decided to cut one large hole and get it over with!
20250812_150258.jpg
Thats enough for today.
When Knox and Jr. get some time, they are coming over and will do the grinding and painting, and we're just going to paint and undercoat the bottom side.
I have a set of six way power bucket seats that I took out of a Lincoln Navigator, for a future project! I think I found the project! They are even light gray, just like his interior.
We have an appointment in the morning at Jackie Jones Ford, Pat's Explorer has two minor recalls, the luggage rack could fall off! And the windshield trim could fall off, I doubt they will do anything but we'll get to go by the bakery and have breakfast with Trisha!
Hopfully I can start on the passenger side tomorrow afternoon.
IMG_20250803_194724.jpg
Its just as bad as the other side!
Its tough to get back into the swing of things after being down for almost three weeks, but Ill get there.
