Jim, I have no clue what to do about those icons in Messenger. I do think there might be some lemonade for Knox down in Chattanooga. I bet there will be a few flood damaged pickups headed to scrap yards that have parts he could use.

No, the little Mexican hyphen thing above the letters (dr) in the script.
As I type the line of script dosnt open up anymore, I only see what's in that line.
That almost looks like it's a bit of a hanging letter from the line above. Does it stay there when you hit enter for a new line? Does it show when you send a text?

Jim, the ******* planet is aggravating. There's just some things you need to ignore so you have more time to chase those damn kids off your lawn.

Knox is coming over after church today, Im hoping to teach him how to weld a patch panel. I hoping this old man remembers to get pictures!
And yes, there is a whole new fleet of water damaged vehicles available, I still can believe how many people will drive into water like that. It was up to the floor on semis and cars were still following them into the water, and floating away!

There is something called a tilde, it’s like an accent curvy line. It’s goes above letters. Is that what you’re seeing?
Thats exactly what I thought it was, I opened that group of symbols and have tried to see if they match! I hate hitting factory reset!

Good job on the floorboard, and better job for helping the young man out.
He's a good kid, he didn't deserve the cards he got delt, but he steps up when its important, his two younger siblings have a different father than him, yet he has always gone with them for visits, just to keep an eye on his brother and sister. Things like that are what makes a man in my book.

On a lighter note!
We plan on patching the right side floor board, pull the box off and patch the floor, some idiot installed a 5th wheel hitch on a 1/2 ton truck!
While we are there were going to replace the fuel pump assembly, Im not sure thats a good plan but the truck came with a new unit so they want to replace the old one.
We'll see how long I can stay upright today. Yesterday was the St Judes hospital car show, it was a long day.

5:00 am is a hard time to get out of bed but a sunrise always makes it better!

I think they were close to 1000 cars, It seemed like 1000 anyway!

20250816_085350.jpg
We made a bunch of new friends and visited with a bunch of old friends. We had about six different Shriner groups approaching us about supplying them with trikes, one group bought a frame to build and test. We donated a frame to the auction, I don't know who got it yet, but he paid up to win it!
My Buddy Edward was there, y'all need to join his Facebook group, car spotting, Edward dose a lot for the kids around here also.

Had a good day today, Knox and Junior really worked on the truck.
20250817_133602.jpg
They started out cleaning and organizing! Knox pulled the old seats out and stored them in the shed behind the shop.
20250817_123625.jpg
We took the box off.
20250817_123630.jpg
Then they did more pressure washing.
20250817_162300.jpg
Someone butchered the floor of the bed. Were going to cut a repair patch from the red truck that I bought from Uncle Willie, we may be putting that motor in it also.
Screenshot_20250817_205610_Gallery.jpg
We got one floor patch started. I have a couple more to do later in the week. I have to build a couple of trike frames tomorrow.

20250817_162313.jpg

I cut the patch panel out of a 50 chevy door. It had the rolled edge already built in!
We called it quits about 5:00, Knox worked hard and was getting hungry!
I got a shower and Pat took me out for Mexican and margaritas 🍹.

I helped Pat sliver pears to make pear preserves.
20250819_202453.jpg
Kayla went to visit a friend and came home with 3 five gallon buckets of pears.
20250819_211037.jpg
We had a lot of good fruit in the batch.
20250820_110101.jpg
She got 21 jars of pears preserves, Kayla said they never really touched the tree, so Im sending her back with a fruit picker and a stack of buckets, I see some pear wine or brandy in my future!
20250820_123428.jpg
Then I had to cut up this pile of wood that was from a couple weeks ago when Frank topped my trees. I finally felt like cutting it and stacked it in the shop, winter is coming.

I need to get the lead out! Im getting farther behind every day!
20250822_152045.jpg
I cut the right floor out of Knox's truck today, it was much worse than the left.
20250822_152052.jpg
I used heavier gauge on this spot, it is on the cabin mount, Ill go under it and weld the mount to the plate later.
They will be here in the morning, we're going to hit it hard all day.

Thank you!

We had a productive day today, they got here about 8:00. We started by cleaning everything out of the cab and Knox wire wheeled the loose rust and paint bubbles off of the floor. I had him go over the floor with a magnet to get the steel into the trash. Then he blew everything out with the air hose. Then we cleaned the bed of the red truck out and removed the bed liner.
20250823_094054.jpg
I marked out the patch panel that we need, and got it cut out.
20250823_123212.jpg
Knox and Junior brought a gallon of rust converter with them today, I filled a windex bottle with it and put them to work coating everything that they had wire brushed, inside and out.
I cleaned up the patch panel and the hole in the bed floor. Its ready to weld in but we were busy cleaning up other things, and pulling the headliner out so Ill weld the patch another day.
20250823_192611.jpg
A friend brought over a tote full of corn from there garden, they were burnt out on processing corn so they thought of us.
20250823_192618.jpg
We cut most of it off the cob to freeze but Pat blanched these to freeze on the cob. I ate two of them raw, they are very sweet. So now Im in my recliner, finally done for the day!
Yea! Tomorrow we're going to wire the bil's garage! One step closer to getting that damn car out of my shop!

Well! Im not sure I like Ace brand rust converter!
20250824_105952.jpg
Ospho turns black and gets a smooth feel, this stuff looks flakey! Do any of you use the Ace brand? Is this right?
20250824_105924.jpg I told them to get Ospho and they show up with this stuff!
20250824_105848.jpg
I did get a clean hole cut in the box, Ill weld the patch in later this week,
20250824_105943.jpg
We have it disassembled about as far as we're going to, you have to remove almost all of the interior to get the headliner out.
20250824_105934.jpg
The good side looks worse than this side.
I spent the morning at the bil's, he wanted me to wire his new shop, I put him on the drill with an auger bit! Drill holes boy! He bought 20 boxes and 250' of wire, after two hours, I sent him back to HD to get 14 more boxes and a 100 amp panel! I always start at the panel, he didnt think we needed it yet. I went home for lunch and a nap. He came back and I installed the panel and pulled the wires in, he didnt buy any breakers! So I made him a list and went home. I did pull the 250' of wire and wire about half of the boxes and half of the lighting. Maybe next week! I worked on my muskadines and grape vines when I got home, they are running everywhere and I had to redirect them up the pole and off the fence.
Hopfully my deck belt for the zero turn and the axle seals for the Mule will be in tomorrow and I can get something done for myself.

I seem to be talking to myself lately! I tell the bil what we will need and he buys half, I tell Junior what to buy and he gets something cheaper! Can you tell that they are related!
Ill stick with the truck for the kid, I want him to remember this time, his first truck. The rest of them are getting written out of the will!

I spent the day mowing and working in my yard. I've had a pile of gravel laying here for months that got spread out around the carport.
I worked on my muskadines vines a bit, it looks like this is going to be a good year for them, Im hoping to make five gallons of wine, Ill need about two gallons of muskadines for that.
Not so much on my white grapes, I picked about 20 grapes and thats it!
Going to build two trikes tomorrow morning, we're have a couple of shows coming fast! Got to get busy!

I had friends like that. Bought what I didn't spec, or not enough. Won't work with the wrong thing and I'm not doing a parts run when the stuff is supposed to be there, so I get to go home early.

I don’t know ****, but let me play devils advocate for the kid. You are going deep in the weeds fixing this truck for him, I know you’re doing it for all the right reasons, and I’m sure he knows that too. BUT, maybe he didn’t expect this level of repairs?

At his apparent age, I would have screwed a stop sign to the floor and rocked on till it died.lol

Me too, Its so funny that they can make a decision so they ask me what they should buy, then they called me on the phone from the store and try to change my mind!
The bil is a whole different story. He says if the rapture takes place then what we don't have done is money wasted, so he only buys what he thinks we can do in one day. He is always wrong and has to make a second trip. Even if Im tired I will use it up to insure he has to make the second trip! Thats just how I am.

I get it but the object is to see if the kid has what it takes! He will probably wreck the truck, but he will know what it took to get to where he is. Him and his papaw,(Junior) could have stayed home and done that, but Im trying to keep him out of the basement holding a game controller for the rest of his life, if that makes sense. I need an heir to my ****** tool collection anyway so Im looking.

Im headed to Donnies we have two trikes to build, one is to replace one we sold and one is a color change, for some reason silver dosnt sell!

I agree, you can tell the ownership in it for him he is always talking about what's next. He won't tear it up on purpose.

We got another trike finished today.
20250826_155636.jpg
These drop tube trikes have been very popular this year.

20250826_130927.jpg
I really like the blue, Im thinking that may be the color for the mini bike.
20250826_130916.jpg
It went together easy, no big problems.
20250826_130754.jpg
Tanya's has a controller problem, were waiting on parts.
20250826_130802.jpg
Hers has good flake in it also.
The next one will be orange, it should be out of powder coat wed. or Thurs.
Going to Copper hill to have dinner on the river. Its the neighbors birthday and she wanted to go to the mountains! Time to get ready.

We sent the blue trike to Knoxville today, it and a white electric are going to be used in a YouTube video at Smokey Mountain Rod and Customs.
20250826_130916.jpg
We'll pick it up in pigeon forge in two weeks at the Rod Run.
I cleaned off a couple of the garden beds and planted seven top turnip greens.
20250829_150652.jpg
I need to clear two more and plant them also. One with turnips and one with mustard greens.
20250829_164332.jpg
Had a variety of wings on the smoker, the garlic parmesan were the best. The Cajun were hot but good!
Screenshot_20250829_165547_Facebook.jpg
Been on marketplace again, I think this would look good on Ma Brown!
Screenshot_20230112-101929_Chrome (1).jpg
What do you think?
The boys will be here in the morning to work on the truck, they have been buying parts again.

Uncle willie was my biggest fear!
Im not a big fan of hood scoops except for the L88 corvette!
20230215_211018.jpg
I absolutely love the L88 hood but only on the vette. But for some reason I can see that hood on my truck, I thought of the firebird when I saw it. Pat dosnt seem to be a fan of it either.
20250615_164501(1).jpg
I could put it on this truck but I don't think it looks as good in white.
Screenshot_20250830_213106_Google.jpg
This angle looks more firebird.
Im still up in the air!
20250830_102404.jpg
We got a bunch done on Knox's truck today, his muffler was shot so I cut it off and put one of my flomasters on it that I took off of Ma Brown, it made him smile. He dosnt have as much motor as Ma Brown so it wasn't nearly as loud on his truck but still sounded very good. They redid the frame with Ospho this time and it came out good. Got some paint on the floorboard.
20250830_132200.jpg
I had Knox working on a special project.
20250830_132205.jpg
We're going to diamond pleat the headliner with 12ga brass! Next couple weekends are going to be car shows so the truck may be still for a bit. We'll see what happens.

Uncle Willie would not be kind to that truck Jim. However, I would lovingly caress it every evening....and tuck it in at night! I believe Willie is out of the running.
No need to change the hood for me!
I'm next in line for the truck, Mr.Zippy. You need to take a number! As hood scoops go, it's a nice one.

I actually got to work on something of mine today!Screenshot_20250901_132437_Gallery.jpg
Applied industrial finally got the correct seals, after the third try! So I got the rear end Reassembled on the Mule.
20250901_113854.jpg
20250901_122149.jpg
Then I made some new brake lines.
20250901_123050.jpg
Got the right side!
20250901_123127.jpg
Then the left.
20250901_123144.jpg
I had to remove the shock to be able to bend and fit the line correctly, so Ill clean and paint it while its off, then do the left side. Im painting it in sections as I make repairs so it should be painted by the time it's fixed.
Im hoping to get the front brakes and master cylinder installed tomorrow. Then I can move it and put knox's truck inside, its too hot outside in the sun! Were going bumming around with Jeff and Rebecca this afternoon, I think we're going to Maddisonville to a diner not for sure yet. Mor to come.
