I fixed the brake issue first thing this morning and then I got back to it again this afternoon.

I had to remove this shock to make the brake line, so while I had it off I blasted and painted it.

Got the front drums cleaned and painted.
20250902_171043.jpg
Then I took the entire front end off!
It will be easier to throw everything in the blast cabinet and get it clean. Then I can inspect and paint everything.

This control arm has some damage, its going to need some help.
Ill clean and paint the frame before installing the new steering rack.
Im going to cut the trailer hitch off and add a receiver style hitch then mount the muffler and most of the rear will be done.

Surprised you're not using Copper Nickel brake lines. Bends easier and lasts FOREVER. Anyway, it's looking really good.
I got this stuff off Amazon, its really soft. I used a spring style bender for most of it. I had to check it, I thought it was aluminum at first.

This is not the one we use but very close, I post it here because this one comes with a foot pedal for go-karts.
We have used it but I like the hand throttle on the one we have listed on the web site.

This is the battery we use. This system will run all three days of a show on one charge. Thats not running continuously for three days but all of the test drives and bathroom brakes.

Despite the rain, we had a pretty good car show!

It rained hard for a while.

It eventually cleared up, and everyone had a good time.

We gave away the trike, Rebecca was very excited to take it home.
We had a random kid pull the ticket from a bucket above his head in front of the whole crowd, to keep it fair. Rebecca is my neighbor! At first she refused to accept it, she was afraid someone would call foul! I explained why all tickets are pulled by a random child in front of the whole crowd, then she finally accepted it. Im happy for her.

Ok!!! I did it! Me and Jeff went to Murphy NC. This morning!
Screenshot_20250829_165547_Facebook.jpg
We got the hood! He reduced it to 250 dollars and I hit him last night, he said he would be home today, he said don't even think about making an offer or he was out! So I told him I was ok with the price, I just want to check the condition. It has two small hairline cracks, and the tip of the right rear is chipped, No big deal!
We got home about two minutes before Junior and Knox showed up.

He got his new used tires installed. The original idea has always been to drop the truck, I kept telling them, we need the tires before we can determine the drop, so they finally got them.
They did a lot of cleaning.
20250907_153022.jpg
I welded the patch into the bed floor.
20250907_180731.jpg
I ground the welds, Junior da'ed the paint and rust back, then we took turns with a lacquer thinner rag cleaning before priming.
20250907_181813.jpg
Knox has said he wants a roll in bed liner since we started so I didnt metal work and grind every dimple out. It will be a perfect looking repair.
Then we tackled the right manifold someone had installed two bolts in it and it leaked bad. I had to get the torch out and heat the manifold and pull the bolts out, then I had to chase the threads with a tap, and install new studs, then we had to bend the y-pipe back into place, installed a new donut gasket, three springs and nuts.
It was a long day but we made great progress.

On the right bank it had one stud with a spring and two random bolts with no washers, and they were not even making contact. I sent Junior to auto zone and this is what they sent back.

Everything else on this truck is wrong so it wouldn't suprise me if this was also! But thats what it got!

I had to go to Athens today, somebody has been screwing around with some of the bakery staff, not at the bakery but other places. We can't make sense out of it but the back door didnt work well and the key for the deadbolt was never there, so I adjusted the door and rekeyed the locks, of course the main entrance has schlage locks and kwickset on the back door so I couldn't give them a one key fits all option. Anyway I went to the farmers co-op and had seven keys made. Now I know my Daughter is safe inside. They are not open to customers on Sunday and Monday but someone is there baking or prepping food both days.
Then I came home and picked muskadines! Its wine time!
20250908_175545.jpg
There's close to eight gallons of muskadines, thats just one vine and I only picked the very ripe ones, theres twice that many still on the vine. The green ones are scuppernongs, there much sweeter than the muskadines. I have one muskadine and three scuppernong vines. Pat is stocked up on jelly so all of this years crop will go to wine and maybe some brandy!

Love Muscadine wines. Last spring on our vacation we made sure to stop at Duplin winery we did the tour. It was a lot of fun. It’s hard to find in PA because of our State run liquor stores. Once every 6 weeks or so we go to Delaware for tax free beer and wine shopping and cheaper gas!!

Bugnut, I live in the Appalachian Mountains, thats where muskadines and scuppernongs come from, and I have had the hardest time finding scuppernongs. I did a lot of research and footwork, and most people around here don't know what a scuppernong is, unless you go to the Mountains and its impossible to get them up there, most of them are on government property (National Forrest) they just flat arrest you for digging anything.
I have had a dozen different people tell me they would cut me one! (Still waiting).
Seeds have to be scrapped, wrapped in a moist towel and refrigerated for three months before you plant, I've tried three times over the years to grow my own! (Impossible).
I finally found some plants that I believe were miss marked at the nursery. Basically muskadines are like a dark grape and are sweet, and a scuppernong is like a white grape but twice as sweet. I found some that were marked bronze muskadines that are not bronze, they are a blush color and so sweet so Im satisfied in my mind that I got them!( in my mind).
Thats a lot to say about basically a wild grape, but I grew up with them, being in Chicago for so many years I was only able to get them when I traveled south during the right time of year. Now I have put that one to rest, I got them. I know half of you already think Im a nut but this should prove it to the rest of you!
Got to go help Donnie fix the brakes on the trike trailer!

Had a good time at the Rod Run,

20250913_141743.jpg
It was so busy I didnt get to see much of the show! But this was one of my favorites.

This was nice.

It was the busiest shows so far. I got a cold on the day I got there, so that wasn't fun. When I got home I found out that Knox and Junior had been down with a cold also!
I didnt screw around with it, I went to the walk in clinic this morning and got meds, she gave me a pack of steroids. I told her I had some serious work to get done in three days. We have to build 12 frames and head to Lebanon Tn. on thursday for the Redneck Rumble.
