Be inspired not jealous, letgo has them for a couple bucks and it was truly the only way we could stay out here.

I've been watching for a deal on some 20 volt stuff but cant get over the price on them. I go to batterys + bulbs and buy the c cells and rebuild my batterys as needed.
I cranked the stereo and it will rattle the rafters. It has an aux port that I want to hook my computer into so I can play my music. Old school is cool[emoji111]

Started on the porch on the front of the shop today. It will be about 26' long and about 6.5' deep it will be a shed roof design and is being installed in the hopes of keeping the rain out. The contractor I hired to pour the floor did not brake the thresholds over and the rain runs down the two doors and into the shop. We got the headers up and bolted to the building after chasing around town for bolts and a hammer drill bit and started laying out the roof and ceiling rafters then the rain kicked in full blast and it was time to stop for today.20200610_124851.jpeg20200610_172017.jpeg20200610_185705.jpeg

Well there is the front porch and back stairs railings for the house,
A gazebo to go on top of the hobit house,
3- 3" posts to support the new shop porch,
A set of handrails for a charity job for a no kill animal shelter that I have adopted,
A new floor for my dump trailer,
And just a little extra for stock.
I got a pic this morning of the shop progress. Its really busy here, I like busy!

That roof is going to be a great addition, adding shade as well as keeping the water out.

I've owned that same parts washer. Twice!
Once I'm in the new abode, I'll probably end up with the 3rd one.
Guess I should quit selling them when I think I don't need them.

Got a bunch done on the porch today, Pat and I got all of the roof rafters up last night so Daton and I started putting in all of the bracing and brackets first thing, then we put the osb down and covered it with the underlayment material. We moved the temporary legs to the header and marked where the perminat legs would go. Then we installed the blocking and put the cieling sheeting up. Kev, thanks, how is your car port coming along.
Terry I'm hoping this will solve the water problem, and the bench is in the shade much faster. I'm trying to downsize the parts washer mine is huge so the neighbor gave me this one, I think it's going to work fine.

Jim the porch is looking really good. The car port is finished for now. I need to find some roofing that match's the shops roof then I will be finished. Thanks for asking.

Front and orch looks good.

Which direction does the rain come from? Is it different between the 4 seasons??

I out an awning over my rear door and the area stays pretty dry unless it’s a blowing rain.

The shop faces close to East and most of the rain comes from the west. But when it rains from the East or South it hits the door and runs in. The contractor that poured the concrete didnt break it downhill at the doors on the main shop. The two additions on the sides do not let rain in because I dropped the approach at the door 1/2". I'm hoping this will help it.

I've got a few relics here and there with 4 digit phone numbers, but don't think I have any 2 digit ones.
I'll have to see if I have any stuff left from my service station. Might have some keychains somewhere.

If he did that I would just hand it to him. That is one spot that I would like to visit. He has one of the best collections around. I'm just going to have to do a route 66 type trip and go to Perry then go see Don at the big party garage.

I've never seen a two digit phone number either, I was just looking for some signs and that popped up from nowhere, I put a 5 dollar limit on it and no one else bid.
What brand was your station. Yes I need a trinket from there to put in my collection.
I worked for my bil for a while in one of the old Phillip's 66 brick stations with full service. It had all of the stuff on the shelves like tube repair kits, machine oil in the little cans, ect.

My station was originally a Phillips 66 from probably the mid 50's with the triangular awning over the pumps.
When I took it over, it had just been purchased by F.S. (Farm Service), a division of Growmark.
It was one of a couple small town stations that were owned by a small bulk route company. FS wanted the bulk route, and got the stations as part of the deal.
I leased the building from them.
I'll do some digging and see what I can contribute to your collection!

Got a little more done today in between rain and interruptions and an emergency rebuild.
First I took the posts to powder coat they are going to be hi gloss white, I'll pick them up in the morning, my bil Danny is coming over to help put them in, that will be a big help. I found some concrete at Burgess hardware in Benton so I went and got it, quickcrete is getting hard to find around here.
I had to go to Pioneer metal and order my roof metal and pickup some soffit and j mold, the metal and flashing will be ready tomorrow at 10:00 so I will get it when I take Kayla to her volunteer job. So I finally got to actually put some parts on the porch then it rained, I have had this Star for a while it was given to me by another bil Dude, so I decided to paint it and add it to the shop while it rained. Then Dalton showed up with a tiny bike that he got for his little man, it was red but had faded to pink so we tore it down and he powder coated it gloss black and did the accessories in chrome (little man wanted it to look like Daddy's truck) and we reassembled it, all of the bearings were full of water we had to polish them then greased everything. I reupholstered the seat with some black naugahide. I think it came out nice for a 2 hour quickey.

I know the building you had, there is still an old one here in cleveland called collins oil.
Ours was the older style and it didnt have awnings. I thought about going with a Phillips 66 theme but I had all this green already so I didnt think it would look right. I was thinking Sinclair and after getting the ash tray... Its got to be a sign, lol.
I'll always have a soft spot for Phillip's tho.
