Interesting, wouldn’t think Kimchi as bribery food.

Hand rail is looking great. Will it be installed now or wait until the other is finished?

Shorty, it's hot, I like hot. Truth is I cooked me some smoked sausage also but dont tell them.
I'll get everything done and take it all to powder coat after a test fit. Then Pat wants to put a fresh coat of paint on the posts before install, she just sanded and stained the floor boards.
This should have been done a couple of weeks ago but I get distracted. I have to go rebuild a porch and measure for a new kitchen at the animal shelter tomorrow and Wednesday then who knows. Maybe I'll get the rails done this month.

Jim, great job blending those handrail pieces together. They look like one piece.
That's going to look great installed. Did you get all those detail pieces from King's Architectural?
I will pass on the Kimchee, a little too stinky for my tastes.

Dill pickles... I prefer the waffle cut ovals... I even add them to grilled cheese sandwiches.

Before the pandemic... I had 5 quart jars... Now... I have 2 left.

OH... and to frozen White Castle cheese burgers... I have reheating them in the microwave down to a science. Take them apart... add a slice of extra cheese... 2 pickle ovals... a swirl of ketchup... stuff the frozen reassembled slider in a zip lock bag... add 5 of his friends... CLOSE the zip lock. Place on a paper plate... NUKE for 2 minutes 38 seconds... the bag will expand... don't panic.

Remove from microwave... cut plastic away... sit down with a bottle of beer... and enjoy.

Rinse and repeat if you want more than 6 sliders.

I went to the Ark of Cleveland today with my bil pickle, his last name is Picklesimer and we started to tear into the porch. Pat and Kay showed up and pitched in and it was a rotten mess. Went back to the house and got more stuff and a trailer then went to Lowes and got them to donate 6-2x8x16 treated boards and 4-4x4x8 treated posts and back to the Ark. Pat and Kay had everything cut out and stacked at the road.

Great job Jim!
It's always nice when people can come together for a good cause.
Great that Lowe's stepped up with the donations as well.

I was totally amazed, Bob is the director at the Ark, it's a no kill shelter that only takes pets that owners can no longer provide for. Bob can authorize 300 without board approval and I figured on matching that to have enough to do the Job. Lowes has donated everything, I havent spent a dime, I supplied a bunch of hardware and screws that were in the shop. The people that run pioneer metal said they would give me vinyl and trim to redo the siding and trim around the porch. My neighbor said we would help me make and powder coat new handrails. It snowballed from what we originally agreed on but thats to be expected. I was asked to rekey Kaylas grandpa's cabinet shop, he asked what he owed me when I finished, well he is coming tomorrow to measure for a new kitchen he is going to build for them.[emoji106]

Thanks I got to carry my tools, straps, chain, blanket, rain gear and a bunch of stuff and there was no place to put it.
The porch has snowballed but that's ok it has gotten some people interested. We measured for a new kitchen today. I'm going to start getting people on board to put a new roof on it.
Shorty
It is 10 gauge, I scribed a line on it and scored it with my angle grinder with a cut off wheel on it(About half way through) then I clamped it to the bench and worked it down with a three lb hammer then straightened the edge on the anvil and same hammer.
I have a stack of 10 ga drops that I get from a local factory they are 5"x 6'

Clamped to the bench with a 1 1/2" square tube.

I got a late start today I mowed the grass first thing then I started pulling everything out of the Dodge, tool, ect. I also drained the radiator and started it to clear the cylinder of antifreeze. I was going to put it behind the shop and put the rest of the tools in the ford but it started raining so I kicked back on the bench and just watched the rain. Oh I did put the wheels back on a RC truck and post it for sale.20200814_173248.jpeg20200814_173244.jpeg20200814_160134.jpeg

Did the final test fit today, all looks good. I have a couple of hours left, got to fit the feet and sleeves, they will be separate and be bolted on after powder coat. And I have to put the flowers in the three panels I have finished. Then I have one more panel to build for the patio then onto the gazebo.20200818_182319.jpeg20200818_182421.jpeg20200818_182435.jpeg20200818_182430.jpeg

Thanks guys
I took the stair rails to powder coat today. I got all of the holes drilled and tapped for the feet and clearances the caps with an end mill cutter in the drill press so instead of sitting on them they went next door.
Shorty
My neighbor Donnie owns a powder coat shop I help him with stuff like pickup and delivery of freight from his commercial accounts when he is out of town, I do some powder blasting and paint matching items that cant be heated above 400 degrees in my shop.
So the handrails will get blasted and coated gloss white.

Welcome
Thanks for reading through it. I go back and look at where it has come to and realize the accomplishment but I still feel like I'm just getting started. Like they say but wait theres more!
Don
Yes but the distractions (you know) are many. I need to finish this one.
I'm going to work on the animal shelter today after I go to the eye Doc. new glasses.

Ok guys,
I been preoccupied with some family business but all looks good Hayley is doing fine so I was able to get back to some projects.
I left for Dehalogona Georga early this morning and retrieved the missing parts for my 70 F100, the po is moving and found them, Great guy he called and I went and got them. My bil Pickle went with me and we came back by way of Dawsonville Ga. I wanted to show him Bill Elliott's town and I wanted to have lunch at the pool room but it was closed. The Pool Room is an old Elliott hang out and is full of his achievements. They have a siren on a pole on the roof and everytime an Elliott wins a race they fire off the siren and the party starts.
So we drove back to Chatsworth Ga. And had lunch at the cream hut it is a converted Texaco gas station where you order at the service counter and set in a booth in one of the grease bays.
I came home and finished putting the radiator back together on the F250 superduty filled it with water and went for a test drive. It seems to be ok but I'm going to drive it for a week or so to be sure.
Then..... I started on the final piece of handrail for the patio on the house.
It's been a long day its 8:15 pm and I'm still in the shop but the rail and I both are done.
