Busy day and successful for sure. At the Cream Hut, Do you use gas station type names for their menu names? Looks like you’re cooking with gas on the railing, or is that electricity. 🤣🤣🤣

Thanks Pat
I zone out when I'm doing rails, doing a gazebo next.
I love driving through there they have 1930s stock cars sitting around downtown there is a moonshine festival there every year with a huge car show. I saw a 63 Galaxy with a 427 nascar motor, street legal Amazing cars.

You're very-productive! The railing will look great in white, good going on the fabrication.

That was a good turn by the p-u truck prior owner giving you a call on the remaining parts. I doubt many people would bother with that. You made a good impression on him. Also when you beat someone up on buying the truck, in this 'last remaining parts' instance, I bet a lot of guys holding those parts would say, 'F__'em!'

There is a guy here in south Florida who is a $$$$ attorney, he had a couple of urban warehouses filled with his hobby collection of cars and motorcycles. As-in, 'red cars with two-seats from Maranello,' vintage English-framed motorcycles with Japanese 1 liter inline-4's, a set of every-year Bonnevilles and I ain't talkin' Pontiacs; Bimota's, and a couple of this century NASCAR cars for track days. He had two guys I know who are retired Yamaha dealership mechanics maintaining all this for him.

As I understand it, his new wife wanted to go in a different direction, as-in one-horsepower kind, and he liquidated everything, buildings too.

The '63 Galaxie sounds like a fun car, but I suspect to make it live in the street, it would need some attention to the running gear, as-in lower C.R. pistons and a softer cam, etc.

I had an acquaintance here in the Ft. Lauderdale area who used to run his own automotive shop, I stopped-in one day to see what was going on, and he had a Ford Starliner with a SOHC 427 in the engine bay! I always liked that auto design, it was very-clean in appearance, I liked it better without the chrome & black-ribbed rear quarterpanel and just a 3/4-length from the rear narrow chrome spearwhich ran horizontally at the height of the top of the rear wheelwell. This is a Starliner, but not that exact car.

Shorty
Were all electric for now.
They didnt use any gas names on the menu but it would have been something I would have done for fun.

It's always good to surround yourself with good people. Jeremy and I have spoke several times since I bought the truck. When I looked at it I liked it and asked him what his price was and I paid it, it's a rust free truck except for a small hole in the floor, heater core leak. We visited for about an hour friday and he asked for first shot if I decided to sell, and I agreed. He got transferred to Carolina and couldn't take it.
Those old fords are just cool, I have always liked the starliner.
I need to pull some of the pics from the last car show and post them. Those big engines fired up and you could feel it in your chest, pure power.

You could sell those at an artist's fair, I dunno how-much, but from what I've seen, ask a lot! As-in, $xxxx.

Sadly, this reminds me that yesterday while mowing the yard, too-late I saw a rat snake, a good-sized one, and I ran-over it with the walk-behind lawnmower, killing it. I would have stopped mowing if I had seen it sooner, and waited for it to move or picked it up and placed it into a dense vegitation area.

Yesterday was a day for reptiles, I was on US-1 in s.e. Florida, almost at the Ft. Lauderdale International Airport (FLL) and as I approached a large banyan tree overhanging the road, from above, there was a blur of bright-green as a nearly 3 ft long iguana fell out of the tree, onto the curb lane roadway. I can only presume what carnage would have occurred if that had happened while some cellphone-yakking convertible operator had that join him/her in the open car! Call JK Simmons! A new insurance commercial of unusual catastrophies! "Yep, we covered it!"

Thanks everyone
I have a collection of lug wrenches, I took one of the longer ones and vice gripped it to the hot file and clamped it in the vise and went to work on it with a three lb. hammer. After it was round I closed it with the vise after removing the lug wrench. I didnt weld it closed until it was shaped that allowed for it to move easier.
My plan is when I slow down I want to fill my enclosed trailer with stuff and go to different markets and see what happens.

If you go to the big festivals I agree they are the only ones that make any money. This whole area is filled with resale shops, flea markets, and antique shops. I can get a 20'x 20' for seven dollars a day, or a booth inside a building for 75 a month. People around here will set up shop in a you-store-it or a mini storage space.

I spent the day helping my bil put new floor joists in what is going to become his master suite. I didnt take pictures because I get there and get done and dont like to hang around any longer than I have too or he will find another job for me to do.
The boys at the powder coat shop surprised me today, they came in and did all my handrails and a bed frame ON SUNDAY I'm really proud of them and the work they do.
The color on the bed is antique silver20200906_184730.jpeg20200906_184743.jpeg

HJ, your porch is going to look great when that handrail is installed. Looks like a nice place to sit and relax. Maybe enjoy a favorite beverage...
