Hahaha, I think you are right.
I picked up the speedy cart from PC today. The main body is antique silver and the small parts are satin black.

looks like you are keeping pretty busy despite the rain. hope that little creek doesn't come up much higher. is your house far enough way to be out of harms way?

that cart has taken on a life of it's own hasn't it?

I took a close look at the motors for your buggy, and they're the exact same motors we used for our robots in college. Are you running them at 12 or 24v? We ran the motors at 24v off of 4 deep cell marine batteries. I still have them and the Douglas wheels and hubs we ran on the motors. Let me know if you come across any controllers, I'd love to get my hands on one, if you don't mind.

I talked Dalton into making the call on the colors, I just told him how I thought it should look. He did great.

Sure I had a blast building this one. We could start a club like wild hogs!

I'll keep an eye out for you. I got this whole mobility chair at my recycler for five bucks, he didnt think it would run.

These are the wheels we used on our motors. Forgot to say that I love the hammer tone and satin.

I was thinking something more like this:

I could have bought one of these a couple weeks ago for $200, wish I had, it was cool.

We used Victor 883 and 884 controllers, but they're expensive, and I don't remember them having braking, so going down a hill the motors turned into generators, back fed the controllers, and fried them. I didn't have the money to replace the h-bridges, or the room for "Frakenbot" (made completely from junk we found laying around), so I dismantled him. He was a fun toy.

Strouty, that would be cool, and a deal there are 200 in tires and wheels there.
X, you can make it happen again.
Jeff, I wish I new more about how they worked I'm sure there are locally accessible parts that would work fine.
John, X2

This is what I would love to find for my next project.

Thanks for showing motor plate. Hope you find a controller soon. For the wheelie bar, I’d like to recommend

Down at Flywheelers, a guy put a vintage bumper car on an ATV chassis. Looked great. I know a guy in Cleveland that probably could fab his own bumper car body.
I was also wondering how you were going to deal with the chrome on cart, sandblast!

Shorty, once I get the fab work finished on a steel project I haul it to Donnies blast house and it will remove anything.
Fun Fact, some powder coat is harder to remove than chrome plating, chrome will come off pretty quick.
I thought about building one from a model T cowel and a grill shell. Hopefully I'll find a bumper car first.

Started the upholstery today, I got all the wood cut and fit up. I have some pronged tee nuts somewhere in the shop that I would like to hammer into the holes and then the panels could be bolted in, much better than screws. I'll resume the search tomorrow right now Pat said the chili is ready.

That's quite the old fart hauler. I like the color combo you chose. I have a few metal display cases with that combo on them. Is your plans for the interior tuck and roll like when we were kids?

Don, thanks, I was trying to keep it looking like a shopping cart with just a little kick. That powder is antique silver and satin black. I bought some black naugahyde and I'm trying to come up with a pattern, I'm thinking smooth border with tuck and roll insert. I need to get the sewing machine uncovered and see if it will run or not. It's been in storage for a few years.

Thanks Craig, it did come out nice.

I have spent the last two days at my Masonic lodge doing building maintenance, we got rid of our old theater chairs last fall and bought some used church pews to put back in there place. All of the benches are 12' long so we placed the ones that fit last fall and I had to cut down four of them to fit into less than 12' spaces. I got so busy I forgot pics but I have one more in my shop that will get cut down to about 30" and I'll get pics of it. I need a coat rack about 7' long so I'm going to try to repurpose the rest of the bench if it will work out.
Today we cleaned gutters, I got in my truck rolled up the windows and turned the A/C on, while my bil was in the bed of the truck with a gas powered leaf blower.
20210406_143043.jpeg
We had to stop and blow the truck off a couple of times, I couldn't see.
20210406_125822.jpeg
About 200' of gutter.
20210406_143054.jpeg
You should have seen the bil. It wasnt a pretty site.

The Lodge is in the woods so plenty of leaves.

We are going to rewire all of the fluorescent lights to LED in the dining hall tomorrow. Then thoroughly clean the place Thursday. We were just released to resume normal business by our grand lodge so we are having a double masters degree on Saturday. Breakfast at 8:00 and two new guys after breakfast.

I had a blast, my bil got blasted. I sat in the truck with the air on and laughed my self silly I just wish I could have got a pic of him.
We spent the day cleaning, Pat oiled all of the wood and I rewired all of the lights in the dining hall to LED. Had a can of coke blow up in the fridge so I washed about 70 cans of coke and washed the inside of the fridge.

I had to go to the surgeon this morning and get some cysts cut off and sewn up, while I was there I got a call from a friend who owns a resale shop, I have been looking for a roll top desk for a while and he found one, it was in great shape so we loaded it up and I hauled it home. Then we went to lowes and bought a sink and some other things for the lodge, then we stopped at city cafe for some lunch, I had chicken fajita salid and Pat had the philly wrap then we headed to the lodge and got busy. Really hoping we get done tomorrow it's our last day before the meeting.

Dalton showed up to help so he took the lead.
20210408_190350.jpeg
Took this old sink out. It was hopeless.
20210408_190035.jpeg
Works great, no leaks.

20210408_190842.jpeg
The faucet came with two different heads so I tried both to see which one had the best spray pattern and this is what one of them does. The light comes on with the water.
Both shoulders are sore, it's time to get some sleep.
