Thank everyone, the last time I used the sewing machine was about 2000, so it's been a while. I want to be able to do the interior in my 64 C10 when I get that project started. I need more practice for sure and the machine needs a tune up, something in the bobbin mechanism is a little out of time. It caused the thread to brake a couple of times but it will work out.

Not the best pic but when you start stapling the vinyl you start in the middle on all four sides and work to the corners.
View attachment 1127691
This is one of the spots where the thread broke, normaly you would take it all apart and replace the panel but after all it is just a shopping cart.
View attachment 1127692
This is the seat bottom, no thread broke on it so it is better.

I make my rolled panels longer than needed so when I attach the flat panel I have more to hold onto then I just trim it off.

Pat and my bil are ISCA car judges, they say you loose points if your pleats dont line up, guess I loose a point for the first row.

I need to put a back cover on seat back as you can see the osb if you are behind it.

I'll finish the arms tomorrow.
I will probably start a new set of panels later this summer they will get more foam and be more rounded like you would expect a seat to look like. This is how I practice getting it right.

Thanks for sharing!
Actually I was planned to do some modifications in my garage and searching for some good and simple designs. This pics attracted me a lot!

I bet if you do all our interiors, you will have plenty of practice before you get to do your own..............

It looks pretty dang good to me!

d-Mayer, welcome to my shop.
Thanks for the vote of confidence guys, I bought out an upholstry shop back in the early 90s and my intention was to open a shop, I took classes from some great upholsters and associated my self with a couple of them. But I was raising 3 teenagers and working two full time jobs so that idea soon got squashed.

Bob, yes exactly but also no regrets. I worked hard raised three great kids that never gave me minutes trouble. 13 grand kids.
Pines, now I'm tired.
Uncle Willie I really appreciate such a great offer.
I finished the speedy cart for now. I took it to Ringold Georgia today for a car show, the bil took a trailer load of swap meet goodies, I dont think he sold anything. I played oldies all day.

yep life surely does make us change directions doesn't it. at least you picked up a few skills (fixing sewing machines and knowing how to use them).

great job on the cart's upholstery.

is that this year's show or a past event?

how does your cart run out on the asphalt road or highway?

hope you are having a great weekend!!

The cart turned out great Jim. The lines of the seat match nicely with the original shopping cart wire. And the wheelie bars are a cool touch.

I got some time this afternoon so I knocked out the cupola.
20210503_122552.jpeg
I cut four pieces about 6x10.5
20210503_122917.jpeg
I squared them and tacked everything
20210503_133148.jpeg
I added a 1" flat bar around the bottom that is set to the angle of the roof
20210503_140612.jpeg
I cut four pieces for the roof. I welded all of the seams and ground them smooth
I didnt get a pic but I also welded the rooster to the top and took it to powder coat

Nice! What is this going on? I’ve been wanting to make one for a shed, but I don’t think I have the skills to make a metal one. Very impressed!

I went to Lowes this morning and bought a 100' roll of 4" drainage pipe. I was going to install it around the front edge of the gazebo and down the walls and install the fan and light but it has rained all day. Now I'm sitting my (electric) recliner layed out flat and the power has been off for almost two hours. I really do need to get the generator set and wired. This is ridiculous. Pat has an oil lamp in the kitchen doing dishes.

We were in a drought up here, thinking we still are. That's also on my list is to get a hook up on the house for our generator.

The power was out till 11:00 I thought, Pat says it was later. I gave up and went to bed.

I bought a couple of benches this morning from a guy that stopped to get a price on having them powder coated but choked on the price.
20210505_175754.jpeg
Kay bought this for her Mom for Mothers day, she asked me to paint it to match the other items in the kitchen.

I need to finish the conduit and gas line in the trench and fill it with gravel, then pour a pad for the generator and propane tank.

20210505_180835.jpeg
I have had the gen for a while just needed to get other things in the trench and let it settle before building on it. There are about six other conduits and drainage pipes already in there. I still need two conduits and gas for the gen. I need one gas line for a stove in the basement and one conduit to the carport for a camera.

Are you mounting that cupola directly to the capable of holding a big block framing? I hope so, don’t think the sheet metal will support the tornado rated box you just built.:lol_hitti I thought I built overkill:lol_hitti

Nice job on the cart.

I just had to hook my generator back into panel when we lost power a few weeks ago. I’m working toward a permanent spot/ hookup in the shed so it can run during the storm, but Mother Nature inserted a trial run for me.
