I used to pull poison ivy bare handed and never get a red spot. Couple of years ago old timers set in and now bee stings make me sick.

My wife had a similar issue with insect bites. She went to an allergy specialist for tests and it turned out it was caused by her blood pressure medicine. Regular doctor switch her blood pressure meds and no problem since.

Craig, this is a four day sale. Today is full price, I'm hoping tomorrow is 25% Saturday will be 50% off then Sunday 75% off. There was a 1 hp 8" bench grinder on a pedistal for 65 bucks, the guy right in front of me got it. There is a jon boat for 900 with 40 hp and trailer I may look closer tomorrow.


You do need to come up here and show me how its done.

I went to Lowes today and not surprised they didnt have any quarts of hammered paint in stock so I bought three more rattle cans.
Had to call the Doctor this morning and get a round of steroids, I got into poison ivy about two weeks ago and it's still spreading, when its winning I get a symptom like pleurisy and my lungs ache. I didnt feel like painting today so maybe tomorrow.

Started here now it's all over me.

We stopped at an estate sale on the way home, I thought I was a hoarder this guy made me look like a total amateur, I have never seen so much stuff. He had three detached garages an attached garage and a drive out basement all so full it was hard to walk.
I bought a can of marvel mystery oil.

Craig, I'm not sure he had several pairs of those, they look like axle ends but they did have pulley grooves. There were several axle ends/ hubs there also. What am I saying there were several of everything there.
Bug, he would have fit in here just fine.

best of luck with the poison ivy. luckily or maybe I just didn't have an issue with it or it doesn't grow up here cause i've never had an issue with poison ivy and i've been in a lot of dense woods working and chasing my errant golf shots. I hope you figure it out and KAY'S solution sounds about as bad *** as I've heard so if it works for her i'd probably do that before i took pills. good luck

also where did you get those pictures of my storage units cause it looks like somebody moved out half my stuff. seriously I need to quit picking up things to store, but I do like old ****/stuff/gems.

if you might have alergies that's another thing I haven't had, but my wife didn't have any issues either til she hit about 45-50 years old and then every spring around here an hour of yardwork would cause her to be miserable for about a week and clariton or other meds wouldn't phase it. THEN she found a Chinese Dr. from China that couldn't transfer his license that is doing accupunture and he told her to come in and he'd cure her allergies and in his words he said "you really don't need those allergies do you?". she had 2 treatments and drank some foul smelling herbs and her allergies have been gone for maybe 7 or 10 years now.

Knocking on wood, I'm pretty much immune to poison ivy.
A bad case for me is a couple blisters that are gone in a day or two.
I scrub them with bleach and a nylon brush and then a good rinse.

I'm not as tough as Kay!

Funny you should mention "the IVY". Clearing the new area for parking 1forced me to venture into the poison ivy crop we're currently raising. I've been fighting the itching by scrubbing my legs, then applying 3% hydrocortisone. Forgot last night to take my shower using cool water (helps keep the oil out of your pores). Warm or hot showers after exposure is a big no-no.

The Doc. called in a script. of steroids like a zpak 6,5,4 each day is one less. The second morning all itching gone and the red blotches were half the size. I did wipe with acetone. (Prolly gonna catch hell for that one) Now I need to get my **** in gear, I haven't accomplished anything this month.
I'm going to another sale today.

Then I went to the Dam Deli and Diner for all you can eat cat fish. I ate it all and told the people in the lobby they could go home now that there was no more fish left.

The handle wasnt for this shear but a couple of cuts and two holes it fit nice.

Let it dry tonight and assemble tomorrow.

I could make a good living buying and painting those old tools and take them to the swap meets. When I get my list done.

Didnt make it back to the sale today, they closed at three. We didnt get done passing out flyers until 3:30.
I worked in the shop this morning until the boys showed up, I had to get the plate put together and mount it to the speedy cart.

That was the thinnest script on the vinyl, it took forever to separate from the backing but I got it done, finally.
Then I put the shear back together.

It went together easy.

I still need to adjust the cutting edge a little better.

A buddy of mine was at the cruise in and saw the speedy cart, he told me to set a price that he wanted it.

I think that you have enough leverage on that shear to cut 1/4" steel there buddy.

Don, It's a little long but it looked too cool, I'm sure it came off of a piece of farm equipment.
We went to Mainstreet cruise in yesterday. I ran into an old friend of mine Billy Dixon and he just insisted I price the speedy cart to him, then another couple were trying to outbid Him. I told Billy we would talk later.

Jay, I have been looking for one of them for a long time. I'm hoping to use it more and my angle grinder less. Yes, I cut my sheet metal with a cut off wheel

Nice sheer after you gave it a little love. I could have use one of those cutting patch panels for the wife's rusty winter beater.
Hope you only use it for fun projects. Those estate sales get me in trouble as I got too much stuff now. Though that Jon Boat might have been a score if its still there on the last day.

Ambenz, The boat went before I got back on the third day, it went for 1900 dollars, someone got a good deal.
The shear came out nice, I wont cut heavy material with it it will be mostly for auto body type stuff.


I gave it a tune up and its cutting really nice.

I have got all of the coop cabinet panels sanded and hammered out, I'm painting them now and hope to be assembling it tomorrow.

There are four of these long panels. Two for the front a two for the back, they are the main part of the assembly and were in the worst condition of all of the parts.

Kirk, I may clean up the coop nest box, but not like the one that's going in the canning kitchen.

Reassembled it today

I had a sheet of 1/2" melamine that I cut into new bottoms.

I put 3/4" conduit on in place of the 1x2 walk boards.

Ready to go

Wow nice work there. From rusty and ready for the dump to pristine and perfectly usable in anyone’s kitchen.
Sorry to hear the cart is heading down the road but my guess you might like to make another one with some better modifications you learned when building this one.
Or spend the cash on a really nice inversion table and bottle of scotch or your favorite.

A thought, and I know I'm a day late and a dollar short, but what if you put some nice wood on the rods across the front. That way you have a place to put jars when you pull them out while you're digging for something in the back.

Drives, Its not defiant that he will take it, It has a price tag that I wont come off too much so it depends how bad he wants it. I hope it dose sell, I have a new 2 wheel creation that I would like to start on.

Kirk, it had 1x2s on it for the chickens to walk on and I thought they would work for a shelf to kind of enlarge the storage area but!
The nest box is going to be hung above a resturant style triple basin stainless steel sink so Pat wanted rods to hang dish towels on.

Back pain *****!

I don’t hang, but lay on the floor with a tennis ball under my lower spine. Once I can breathe easy, I move it up a vertebrae. All the way up, then back down. Seems to work for me.

Kay, I'm going to try it. I have been using alcohol and ivy dry, started to dry out but last couple days it has flared up.

I have had many severe cases of poison ivy over the years. The one thing that really works for me is a prescription - .1% Betamethasone Valerate ointment USP. Usually dries up the poison ivy in about three days and stops the spread.
