Take lots of pictures before you put the ceiling ON !!! Boy do I wish I took more pictures.
YEP! we did that on a new build, got lots of plumbing and wiring. Of course, that was back when people used cameras and needed the photos developed.

Sure helped to when we had to show the builder where the f-ing water was coming from on the second day after we moved in...

I have pictures from the first day we got the house, everything we've done has pictures. I need to get a couple from my laptop and post here. I have one with no drywall, you can see through the whole house. At one point the only wire in this house was the one going to the well and it was buried. When I ran the new service to the shop I replaced that wire also so everything is new now.

HOLY COW!!!!!!!!!!! And how much of the plumbing have you replaced? I know you told me you've done a ton of work, but it sounds like pretty much ground up rebuild.

Thanks John, I cant wait to get the basement/ my office done, I have stuff everywhere.

Had a bunch of running to do today, bought a new tv for the living room it's a 55" OLED the picture is unreal. I took out a 72" it was just too big for the room.

I had Dalton and Hayden over today and we pulled four 30' sections of roofing metal off of our back porch to find a small leak.
20210912_194533.jpg
The water leak was in the corner where all three roofs meet. The valley flashing on the upper roof was under the lower flashing so the water ran under it and into the porch.
20210912_194536.jpg
The metal on the upper roof was too long causing the flashing to hold water so we cut it back two inches and started installing new flashing metal along the entire length of the roof.

We put this new roof paper on it's not like tar paper, it's more like tyvek but that's what the pros recomend to use.

I'm hoping tomorrow that Pat and I can finish the trim and flashing and put this one behind us.

Then hopefully we can replace the cieling and finish the back porch.

I'm hoping we got it this time.
It messed up some bead board but no big deal there. We had decided to take the cieling down and insulate it and install something else, we didnt like the bead board. We want to install a mini split on the porch so we can use it year round. Just more on the todo list.

Kirk, I finished the roof today, got new transition metal in, and all of the trim corners back in place. I had to go to best buy metal and get another bag of oversized screws to finish. 250- 1 1/2" screws was $46.00, I about crapped my self.
The weather for tomorrow is supposed to be good, then from Wednesday thru saturday they say we could get up to four inches, so that should be a good test.
Uncle Willy I have aluminum tape for sealing ductwork, I really considered using it and spraying it hunter green. If they made flexseal in green I would have used it.
I got desperate last year and contacted linex they said they could spray the entire roof in green bed liner for six grand, I almost did it.

It sprinkled a little today,
I worked on a candle chandelier today, back this spring I converted an electric chandelier to hold candles with some taper bases and I also made some 4" round flat plates to fit in the tapers to allow the lady to set flat candles on there also. Well after powder coating everything they didnt fit so I added a piece of thin wall pipe to the plate and now they work fine.
It hangs in a lady's gazebo in her back yard

Sorry for your loss (your friends passing). Nice job figuring out wine bottles weren’t working and exchanging for one’s that do.

we abuse our bodies and sometimes hope or expect a pill to fix them and really just takes time, good eating and maybe some rest and exercise. Good luck.

UPDATE it has been raining all day and as of a few minutes ago. No leak on the back porch. Knock on wood.
Pat's daughter, Trish and her husband Charlie came down from Oliver Springs for the weekend, we spent the day doing estate sales, I bought some Stainless Steel pipe and a 1964 Dale Earnhardt die cast car, I'm a Dale fan, not a Dale nut, I like the older stock cars so I pick them up when I see one. A man walked in the room with the man running the sale and said how much for the whole collection (over 300 cars, banks, pictures, ect.) 1000 dollars, and the man and his wife started loading them into there van. It was kind of cool to see it happen.

I used to buy video games that way, sellers would have them priced at $3 each and I would say I will give you 25 cents each, but I will buy them all. Sometimes I would pay 50 cents, but only if there were some good games. I still have totes full of games, I wanted to make a wall out of Atari 2600 games.

Worked in the basement today
20210921_142722.jpg
We started painting parts of the wall where we know it's going to take a couple of coats.
20210921_142729.jpg
I also got some of the data cables and coax sorted out and got the last cctv cable in place. I'm trying to make sure I have everything in place before I seal up the cieling because there will be no going back.
I also started laying out the EMT conduit on the walls for the outlets.
If the weather cooperates tomorrow I'm going to cut in the third window and get it mortared in place.
There is a lot to do but I feel like I can see the light, especially since the roof leak seems to be behind me.

We are going to start prepping for the world's longest yard sale that starts October 1st officially but a lot of folks will start Sept 25th. We are taking three trailer loads of **** to the lodge on the 28th and set up to sell from the 1st to the 3rd, I did really good last year I sold 2,500 dollars of junk out of my shop.
