Ok, I got started on some Christmas gifts today.

I started with a pile of washers.

Had to bend them.

Welded them to a piece of round rod.

Cut out some pieces of duct metal and bent them up with a chisel.

Came out nice.

I made four Roses for pat and her sisters.

I didnt have the right color of green to paint the stems, I'll make a trip to town tomorrow and get some paint.
This has just become an expected thing at Christmas, the girls started asking Pat months ago what I was going to make this year, I didnt tell her because I didnt know.

We took a trip to Calhoun Ga. Today to pick up Pat's replacement tool box kitchen island.
We stopped at a Buc-ees truck stop, they have at least a 40' beef jerky bar. I have never seen that much jerky in one place.

I got me and Hefe a couple of bags for the drive home. I got Pat a bag of honey roasted pecans.

It was a good day.

It was 70 degrees here today, I was soaked in about 30 minutes, I moved a bunch of wine making equipment out of the fab shop today and washed it and stacked it to dry, it's going into the storage trailer for a while, it's going to get to cold for the yeast to work outside. I painted some of the flowers and sat them out to dry, then I started on the piano stool that we are giving back to the neighbors.

I made this board to cut circles on my table saw. I needed to true up the seat for the stool and also cut a new circle to replace a missing piece.

I have the jig clamped to the table saw and finished trueing the seat, the other circle was made from a piece of pallet wood.

This is the pallet wood circle after stain and one coat of clear.

This is the seat.

And the body. I will sand with 4 ought steel wool tomorrow and recoat with a second coat of clear.
Hopefully it will only take 3 or 4 coats to complete.

My mom was the church organist. We had an organ and two pianos in our house.

There were two of these stools.

Nice work, and plenty of good neighbor points coming your way!
