I did a little frame work on the golf cart this afternoon.

My after pic disappeared, but everything behind the crossmember has been cut off and is going to be recut at the correct angle to be welded back on. I'm hoping to get a couple pieces cut and fit up while its here, once the tub is gone I will put it on the welding table and tig it back together.

Be careful with that golf cart Jim.
I once brought an old golf cart into the shop and spent the next 18 months shoe horning a 3 Cylinder diesel in it along with a bunch of frame and suspension work.
It's a very slippery slope.

Kirk, I have been sitting on this project for years, when I cleaned the big shop up the motor that was buried in the back became accessible, so that triggered me. I'm hopeless sometimes.

Mac, I hear you buddy, Im hoping to make it quick, but we both know!!!
My nickname is Scope Creep.

Back to the bathtub!

The feet are held on with cut nails, I have several boxes, somewhere!

For the sake of getting done I grabbed four horseshoe nails but they were too thin, so next I grabbed some key stock and the grinder.

Each of the cast iron legs is a bit different so I ground each one to fit the specific foot and marked them.

This is the cleat that is cast in the tub.

The date is also cast into the bottom of most cast iron tubs.
This one was made on 7/24/1933, 89 years ago!
The bil just called he is on his way with the glaze, hopefully I can wrap this one up today.

Did a lot of moving **** around today, I kept hearing Pines in the background playing garage tetris.
We moved the tub outside, cleaned the shop, put the golf cart on the welding table, then put the tub back in the shop but it's on the floor on its feet now. I put the charger on the Dodge so it could go in the main shop but the cord broke and it started to rain so I drug the charger back into the shop and put a new end on the power cord. Maybe the Dodge will make it in the shop tomorrow.
I am going to clean and glaze the tub tomorrow we ran out of time today. Then I need to go to the welding shop for supplies to weld the aluminum frame.

I need to fine tune the angle a bit but this is where I'm headed.

Didnt work in the shop Friday, had to go to the bil's and hang drywall, nothing exciting there.

Slept in a little today so I got a late start, I worked on the golf cart for a bit sorting out some brackets and suspension issues. Knocked off earley to take Pat out for dinner, her birthday is in a couple of days.

Drives, I've been jumping all over the place but right now it seems to be working, I have a couple of vehicles back on the road, spending a little time on the golf cart is my unwind time. Going back to the basement soon to finish it off.
I have collected some missing pieces to some other projects so it should be an interesting year, I cant wait. I'm glad to see you here, 👍

Got back to my shop this morning, I did a little experiment with the tig welder on some aluminum, it didnt pass so on to plan B.
Got the first coat of white on the tub finally, I'm waiting for it to flash so I can spray the second coat.
In between all of that I went to the store and got Pat a birthday cake and some balloons, party at Pat's place tonight!!!
I also got the battery changed in the Dodge and got it in the shop.

Next victim, I was going to get it in over the weekend but some guy wanted to look at it to buy but he never showed, his loss, I would have made him a great deal because I dont really want to pull the heads.

I wonder why they tuck the motor on the modern trucks so far back? It's not for the hood clearance. I wonder if it's for air flow through the radiator. Why else would you have such a long fan shroud? Say happy b'day to Pat for me.

Kirk, exactly, I used to work as a mechanic when I was up north, gas for a while then 18 wheelers and construction equipment. I cant stand it now.
I would much rather be fabricating something.

Jay, that's all her, she wanted it for christmas so I took her everywhere to see them all. I think the wood top got her, it's a close match to the cabinets.
When we get the basement finished the Hoosier cabinet is going down there and I think the tool box will go to the wall, I think!!!

Been working on the RV the past couple of days, I may have a buyer, got to make sure everything is perfect, hoping to finish that tomorrow.
Took the bathtub to the bil's place, yea its gone.
Got the hood off of the Dodge and was looking it over, I think I can pull the top core support, radiator, and shroud and be able to stand in that spot and take the motor apart as opposed to leaning over the fender.

Hi Jim! I just finished reading your entire thread. You’re a very busy fellow!! I have enjoyed your projects and look forward to seeing you build the 64’. I hope it’s “turn” is coming soon.
When I finish my shop I have little project planned as well. I have a 56’ GMC long bed that I will build on a 76’ 3/4 ton 4wd chassis with a Cummins 6BT and a 5 speed. I have attached a few pictures of what I’m starting with.
