Are the security cameras for your protection, or some other reasons?
I always wonder about crime rate, motivation etc when I see cameras.
My house has a load of cameras, recording equipment and separate alarms for the shop and house, fitted by the previous owner. After his garage got burgled for MX bikes.

The block walls/ coal room is rough and dirty, lots of coal has been ground into them over the years. I'm hoping to win this one!
Grizz, like most neighborhoods we have a suspected dealer living close by, or he is a very popular person that dosnt have any personality. There have been a lot of strange acting people around latley looking for him so we now lock up everything and install cameras.

I washed the coal room with an acid wash, then it got washed three times with soap and water, then rinsed with water.
I used a shop vac to pull everything off of the wall between brushings.
Then I washed and rinsed the floor. Now I have the fans drying everything. There is a small amount of block repair to do around the door frame, then we should be ready to coat the room.

There used to be a drug dealer in a mobile home park close to the old house. He would make meth during the day, then deliver it at night. For some odd reason he decided he would sit in front of my drivewayone night, and rev his engine with no exhaust.
The first time he left before I had pants on. The second time he escaped again. The third time I was hiding Ina bush out front. He decided to not mess with my property any more. I turned him in to the police, and never saw his truck again.

This guy is in a trailer on the chicken farm behind us, he tries to intimidate everyone around here. I have had to dodge him several times while working near the road, I'm over him, next time!!!

The problem now is the lower two or three courses of block in the S.E. corner of the room, which is the corner next to the stairs. I have thought about just abandoning the room but I still run the chance of water getting into the main basement and we wanted to install floating floor, so if water got under it there would be trouble with that. It's such a vicious circle!

Thank you, Pat and I are going to lowes today and get some floor leveler for the coal room, I think that the people that installed the original floor used a flat shovel to trowel it, you can literally see the shovel mark's on the floor. Today's plan is to patch some broken block around the inside of the coal room door, then pour the floor leveler. It says that it is completely cured in four to six hours, so it will be tomorrow when we start painting the ugl drylock.
That is the plan until something changes.
The end plan is shelving down both sides for holiday tote storage.

Well the weekend didn't go as planned, I kind of hit the wall again.
We did go to lowes to buy floor leveler but instead we bought 12 bags of sand topping mix. The 50lb bucket of leveler would do 40 sq ft at ⅛" thick at $35.86 per bucket.
The floor area is 58 sq ft. The 12 bags of sand mix will do the floor 1" thick and were $8.08 each, that's what I want.
Today the temp. was only 92 and the humidity was 24% so I worked on the carport, tomorrow is supposed to be close to 100 so I may be back in the basement.
I had to move the scaffolding, that took a while, then I cut filler plates to block off the collar ties.
I got a couple of sheets of duct metal to cut the filler plates.
The birds like to build nests in the collar ties, then they **** on the trucks when they fly in and out.
I thought I had some single gang boxes in the stock room but if I do I cant find them so I have to go to the Dr. and the bank in the morning so I'll swing by lowes and pick up a couple, I need them for the lights in the carport. We will see what tomorrow brings.

Tony it dose add to the lateral a bit, the birds love carports, you would think the mfr. would make a bird proof brace.

I'm going to try to come up with something a little different for the braces on the back legs, they are 48" long.

Didn't hit a lick today, too much running around, too much other people pulling me away for there needs. I'm going to pick up a mobility chair tonight at 8:00, We are hoping it can be repaired, the Granddaughter has an old friend that is in need.

Kirk, no it wasnt too bad about 92° and 30% humidity, it would have been a good work day but all of the running around got me out of the mood to work, the extreme high heat isn't happening as predicted so that helps. I did a bunch of BSing with people, I went to the powder coat shop and Johnny said he was wanting to build a grinder stand like the one I built for Dalton, so I told him to blast his parts and I would do the welding for him, he is the man that dose all of the blasting, so I need him happy!!!

I worked on running electric in the carport today,
I was able to run ½" conduit between the raised rib of the roof metal and the framework, I did this to keep from making a perch for birds.
I drilled through the back of my box and into the metal leg, then a hole at the peak in the roof, then I pulled three 12 ga wires through the leg to a j-box at the peak.
This is before the conduit and boxes were installed.
I drilled a hole in the leg on the front side and pulled three wires from there back to the peak. I am going to mount a motion sensor there to operate two 4' led fixtures mounted inside the carport.
Shorty made it here around 2:00 we talked a bit and looked at the projects but he needed to get going, he had a long way to go so he hit the road and I got back to the carport.
I will try to finish and get better pics tomorrow.

Nice visit. Everything is looking good. Great seeing the projects in person and just sitting in the shade talking. Got several great ideas to do at my place.

Shorty, there wasnt anything in the shop, I moved the golf cart out back so I could clean and get the table ready to assemble Pat's furniture when I get it back from powder coat.
My old 05 dodge pickup is in the main shop, I started tearing it down back in February to replace head gaskets and have lost interest in it so I priced it to a buddy for 2500 dollars, I think he wants it. I hope he wants it.
I cut in a light switch so I can overide the motion sensor, I'll need to get a cover next trip.
I got both lights mounted and finished most of the overhead work, just a couple more filler panels to install.
I wont get to work on it tomorrow, I need to go to Athens and pick up a couple mobility chairs to see if I can repair one of them for a man that lost his leg. We are going to try to pick blackberries while we are there.
A couple of Josh's hog dogs got loose and came to visit, the family was on vacation last week so I helped feed and water the dogs, now they think I'm there buddy!
