I wanted to paint the room today but I was led in a different direction. I had to get the tractor and haul the tig welder to Donnies shop, he is building a set of pipes for his Bronco and wants to tig everything except the mufflers, then I had to haul some steel out of the woods and take it to my shop, then while I had the tractor I hauled in some fill for the flower bed.

I ran out of boarder stones but I got the general shape down.
Then Dalton needed me and the tractor to help him move a set of 10' tall rought iron gates to the blast house. I came home and had a popsicle whith Whitley and B, then I mowed the lawn, the blade belt came off of the zero turn about ½ way through mowing and I didnt want to tear it apart so I finished with the lawn tractor. Now its rum and coke time, what a day!

It's starting to look like something now. I need to read the bucket and see about second coat.

I have some patching to do on the inside wall around the door frame.

But right now there is a stack of rib eyes going on the grill and a cooler that needs to be emptied. We have officially kicked off the holiday weekend with the new neighbors. More to follow, 👍 happy 4th people.

Okay, I need a nap after reading through Jim's posts
Tony, I pull the blanket over my head to keep the light out and come back out the next morning. I don't feel better about myself but Jim's next post might be about steaks and liquid refreshment instead of epic progress on a pyramid.

Its 1:15 am, there were three loud explosions and its dark. I'm guessing a transformer blew up, since I saw the flash it was close.
I called the non emergency number for Bradley co. police, thought they may have contact with volunteer electric, the dispatcher informed me that she wasnt the power company. When I worked for the city we encouraged people to call when they heard explosions, a patrol officer would search the area for fires and such. Guess they dont do that kind of stuff anymore.
So I called volunteer electric and was on hold forever, a lady answered and said she was an after hours answering service and that crews knew there was an outage and were working on it. I said that I only called to offer an address where I believe a transformer may have blown up since I saw the flash and heard the explosion. She said that she believed that the crews could handle it.
I guess I'll sit here on the porch and rock in my rocking chair, I'm not sleepy after all the excitement. So proud of all the people in charge of things around here.

We have several amish communities around here, I'm kind of disappointed in what they had to offer for produce, a lot of it looked like it was commercially grown and walmart is cheaper on some of the items.
I'm surrounded by Amish and Mennonites here in Southern MD.
Sitting in an Amish built house.
Took me 30 years to get used to the off light switch placement, lol.

Have seen their buggies gather around tractor trailers and offload out of state, out of season produce.
I assume to resell at their stands.

They're selling a brand, and are pretty good at it, lol.

Great work!

Kirk, that blew my mind. They even have a number in there promps for explosions. My first thought was a transformer blew up and spewed burning oil on a neighbors house, luckily that was not the case. I called back today to get the latest protocol and the lady said to call and let them know. I told her they need to talk to there answering service and update them.

Hellpig, I saw a semi pull out into one of there fields and blow his air horn in a code something like 6 long blasts, the horse and buggies came from every direction, they unloaded a 53 ft. trailer load of watermelons into there buggies and took them to the basement of there store. They have had tomatoes for two months, there not growing everything. I dont care but there prices are the highest around and people say that organically grown is worth it, if they only knew!

Strouty, I'll bet he can make some noise, I'm excited to see how he dose. It makes me look at these wild ones here a little differently.
Thanks for the words of encouragement, I keep hoping to get this phase done and get back to my shop projects, in due time!

This is what caused all of the excitement last night. The wires cross the road from the transformer to my neighbors house to the east, new guy, his name is Danny, you can see that there is still a large broken limb still hanging above the wires. It will happen again!

That is all that they trimmed off of it.
Its 98° and the temp index is close to 110° I'm working in the shop with the air on today.

The power co. here send out tree trimming crews avery 3 weeks to cut down limbs that are too close to their lines., They have killed 3 of our trees and want to bucher 5 more and I won't let them on the property with their trucks only their inspectors and I take great pride in yelling at them for bothering me again in the same month. I cut the trees now.

They dont have a tree trimming program anymore, I asked and was told that it is cheaper to repair tree damage than to have a trimming crew. I guess I should be happy my house is all electric and my bill runs about 150 per month. The down side is it's usually at night when we loose power and I cant sleep without a cpap. I am going to check into a battery back up for it.
