Was just looking at this, it includes a 14" Black Diamond Hoof Finishing Rasp. Is a hoof finishing rasp acutally useful for anything other than horses hoofs?

Want to remove a large amount of soft material (plastics, fiberglass, nylon, delrin, etc and probably even brass or aluminum) at one time, that is the file to use.

Good point, so maybe not a total waste if I get this.

They work well for rough wood removal actually. I have a number of ferriers rasps that get plenty if use, and I don't own horses...

Would not work well for aluminum or brass. There are nonferrous files with half moon teeth that work very well, from very coarse to very fine.

Edit- should have clicked link first... That's not a hoof rasp as I thought, its for finishing. Either way, you will find uses for sure. But it will load up and choke on nonferrous metals. If its as hard as normal files, it may work on soft steel... But I wouldn't count on it. It will work on other softish materials like pvc, nylon, abs, poly, delrin, etc like mentioned above
