I was going to place an order and added several items to my cart. I went to check out and had an empty cart. I tried again and same thing. Anyone order recently?

I ordered something on Tuesday and received it yesterday. First time order...probably won't be the last.

i found their shipping to be reasonable and their prices fair. their williams stubby metric wrench set i think is a steal at 50 bucks. i use it daily at work since buying it.

anyone buy the wilde pry bars from there? wouldnt mind a set for home garage. but the picture on the site is hard to gauge how it is.

They seem very, very nice for the price. I don't own any, but I've looked at them in person several times.

Wilde is the OEM for the regular Craftsman pry bars. As far as I can tell, the two are identical. You could look at them at your local sears to see if you like them.

Was a bit goofy for me when I ordered for the first time...had everything in my car but wasn't logged in...as soon as I logged in and went to check out, it had cleared my cart. Bit annoying, but not nearly enough to keep me from going back and putting everything (and a bit more) in the cart while logged in.

I bought the Wilde 10" and 12.5" pipe wrenches, along with some other small stuff. The Wilde stuff is really nice. Unfortunately someone stole the 12" wrench from me...I want to replace it but $12 for shipping on just that one piece is stopping me for now. Need to go in on a few things with my buddy at work to make it reasonable shipping...

I am really lucky, if ai want something from there I just drive there and pick it up. They used to have blemisher tools from some of the manufacturers, that is where I got all of my 3/4" stuff.

We are working on updating our checkout process, so let me know if anyone is still having issues with anything. I'll let our tech guy know about the "basket clearing issue". One thing that we are working on is how to more accurately figure shipping. If shipping ever seems unreasonable just give us a call or email, and I'm sure we can do better. Our shipping calculator is just a computer and isn't as smart as we are in terms of finding the best deal. There are lots of great options in terms of flat rate shipping that aren't on the web yet, but we do offer them, so just let us know.

thanks

I ordered today and the shopping cart would only remember the last item I put in the cart. Also kept signing me out when I chose to continue shopping. I couldn't purchase multiple tools on one order. Happened last week also.

I bought one of the Wilde bars from Epsteins a few weeks ago, they are excellent for the money.

I also bought a pair of the Bahco pump pliers, smaller than I expected and just "ehh" in terms of in-hand appeal, but WAY cheaper than the SO version of the same thing.

Maybe everyone on GJ should buy something from our website, just to make sure it works. :)

We are looking into it right now. Looks like it might be a cookies issue.

I'd like cookies with my next order. :D

Anyway, to test I filled the cart with some ratchets, clicked on 'What's in my basket', logged in, clicked on 'Checkout' and everything went smooth.

Hiya Garage Journal, I'm Jamie B. I work with Jori on the Epstein's website. We've been working on this checkout issue and really appreciate your input!

It's amazing how different computers can visit the same website and display it differently. It's like how a group of people can read the same book and get a variety of impressions. We try to make it so the Epstein's website reads well for everyone.

Once we get to the bottom of this issue, we're very close to putting up the new version of our checkout process. We've worked hard to use what we've learned from the last couple years of Web Epstein's (and the last 81 years of real Epstein's) to streamline the process and add features like extra support for military addresses.

When the new checkout is ready, we will be really glad for your continued input to spot any issues. And we always love to hear new ideas that can make it easier for you to find the tools you're looking for. You're the experts!

I just checked operation of the shopping cart with the google chrome browser and there was no problem at all. Everything worked perfectly. The problem seems to be with IE 9.

So, not to get to technical here, but the issue is with IE9. If you are using IE9 and have "compatibility mode" turned on, then it causes the basket problems. You would either have to turn off "compatibility mode" or use another browser to get the shopping cart to function properly. I would recommend Firefox or Chrome. We are working on a fix so you won't have to do any of this, but it might take a little doing.

thanks
