Cat inspector got into the box before I could finish unpacking it.

The butcher paper is always appreciated. This one stayed on this spot for hours.

Large things:

Boy, this rasp is big!

IMG_0510.jpeg

The chisel really surprised me. (Well, it is listed as 1" x 12".) What a beast!

IMG_0511.jpeg

No surprise here. Hope I need it someday. I bought a pair of 12" Cobras and the work I do, it rarely comes up. The 10" Cobra really is the sweet spot for me, and likewise, my 10" pliers-wrench gets a lot of use, too. (Same for the 7 inchers in each type.)

We'll see. Now I'm ready for the day I need bigger. And being German, and new, this thing is sneaking up on 25% of my order's price!

I ordered the 7"x2" like I bought last year, and this appears to be the 7" x 2 3/4". It's not like they have model numbers on them, could be a mis-pick, could be an inventory deal. I'm sure the kitchen crew I'm gifting it to will be appreciative, they loved the 7" x 2" last year.

Little thingies:

The Dexter mini-turner really tickles me. Smaller than I expected. I was imagining a big turner but shorter in the flat zone. I have just the pan for this, picture later.

Your average commercial kitchen table scraper, for comparison:

Wee squares!

Japanese company, but made in China. Opposite side has finer gradations.

The Wright stuff! I ordered two wrenches, one is backordered. My go-to wrenches are Sears Craftsman Professional, long pattern, USA.

The Wright 22mm is just a tiny bit shorter than my CMan 21mm, so that's still long pattern enough for me. So purdy!

My order is lost in the ether- looks like I missed out on the Channellock swag. I think the scissor sheath is the issue. Jonesing for those ironworkers- my kid may not get them now. I did note that they could wait to ship all together. LOL.
I reached outo HJE turned out the scissors sheath had my order in limbo. They corrected it and quickly I got my order- along with the swag I was bummed I thought I missed. This is why I'm a repeat customer of HJE. Well done HJE

Pimp my Pan!

Two HJE upgrades to my frequently-used 6" skillet.

1) the Opinel knife sheath fits on skillet handles, and not just little skillets. It gets darker and shrinks from the heat and moisture. Every year or two I might cut it off and slide a new one on. Hey, $2.50.

2) Dexter 2 1/2" mini turner

Review: small! Picking up that egg to put it on the plate took some focus.

Also,
3) Little universal 6" lid. I think I paid $10 for mine, then $15 for one for a friend in 2022, currently listing at $25.61, which is bonkers, but Amazon does admit $16.99 is the usual price.

4) Lodge Spoon rest. I believe I got mine at Wal-Mart for a fair price a long time ago.

Stove gets cleaned the day before the woman comes home.

I'm waffling between being horrified, and wanting to quit my job and move there so that I can get a job there to be included in the fun

Horrified? That was hilarious!

The husky kid in me is just sad over the loss of good cake and cupcakes.

I'm hoping those were unsold, expired cakes, LOL. (Wait, is there such a thing???)

Don't laugh too hard... Growing up, I lived within a mile of a major bakery, and we'd shop in their "Thrift Store" which was all (barely) expired, USA-made products, for dirt-cheap prices. HJE would definitely approve!

Im close to a Mckee (Little Debbie) plant and outlet……..that might be the reason for my husky look.

Runs about 3:00

It's probably been 50 years since I used a wrench like the first one in that video, and I'll always remember this lesson learned: if the lid to your Testors model paint is stuck, probably from paint on the threads, and you put this bottle gently into your vise, then this kind of wrench will eventually squeeze the lid and crack the glass before it ever loosens it.
