I'm not sure about anyone else but I HATE Walmart.
That being said it is the closest by a hour. unless you count the hardware stores that sell the cheap screwdrivers and other cheap china made tools personal experience with there tools. So for me Walmart has a few basic tools worth getting.
I say this because I just recently picked up a set of the HART brand screwdrivers. I have to admit this is my first actual screwdriver set being all the same brand.
There not to bad if I am being honest. They feel good in the hand comfortable. Much like the Kobalt brand ones I've used of my father inlaws.
I admit I haven't gotten to put them to work to much yet. I think for the home gamer they would be good for a starter set.
The limited youtube reviews i've found say there pretty good. If these hold up I might grab another set to throw in my car bag as well as leave in the garage.
The white I thought would get real dirty easily but we will see in due time.
The markings on the base that says what each is looks really nicely done.
If you have any experience with them let me know your opinions!!

I grabbed the 4 pack of Hart pliers a year ago on a whim & kinda like them.

Intended to, at worst toss em in my live audio work box since pliers are some of the most borrowed & lost tools. Never quite made it there thanks to covid wiping out that industry...

Anyway, in initial use they all felt solid & not just solid for the price. Not much slop in the jaws and the smooth grips are sorta like channelocks

They're currently sitting in a plastic box of leftover & spare tools awaiting their fate but I'd buy em again.

Bit later I got the 3/8 and 1/2 drive impact extensions. They were cheap & work. I've certainly bought ****** extensions and these aren't in that group.

It's all TTI gear so at least Ryobi level..?

Haven't used them but the warranties look like an absolute hassle. Have to mail the tool back to them, plus insure it. Also have to pay return shipping. Proof of purchase is required, even on the lifetime stuff.

For the price they go for regularly I wouldn't bother warranty at all. Walmart tools aren't meant to be replaced once they wear out more like upgrade from them. At least that's been my experience in the past. Very few tools from Walmart are worth keeping long term and replacing with the same if they break.
Maybe that's just my thinking of it.

Its 5 dollars for 6 items. Just throw em away when they break.

Was at Wally World yesterday. One thing I needed was one of those single side razor blade scrapers. Head over to the tool/paint dept. Ask a drone where they are & have to describe it as he's clueless. As I'm talking to him I notice them hanging on a hook 2 aisles over through a gap in the shelving.
"Oh never mind, there they are"
Guy was all confused & I had to point to them. He actually followed me over there as he couldn't figure out what I was pointing at.
Less than $2 and.... Made in the US.
Should have grabbed a couple, I'll get another next time.

They're screwdrivers - they'll work for light duty stuff. I'd just assume order some decent drivers online even before stepping foot in a Walmart.

I haven't bought any Hart tools. But I did buy a few of WalMart's Hyper Tough branded pry bars. Not the best in the business but they are USA made Wilde pry bars. They were cheap.

You hate, "cheap, China made tools" but found HART to be actually pretty decent? Where do you think they were made? :headscrat
Im sure theyre fine. Its all TTI afterall and Im sure theres some trickledown from the Milwaukee line. Who knows, they may be the same thing with blue and white handles instead of red and black?

This is the 21st century.

Maybe most everyone has figured out how to make a decent screwdriver. :dunno:

Yep, it's a lousy eight bucks for a set that will work great for 99.999999% of the stuff you need it to do. Horrible Fright, Wally World, and many others are selling decent mid-level stuff like this that works just fine.

Screwdrivers are consumables, not heirlooms. Buy a handle and color you like in the mid-tier like these (avoid the really awful stuff) and get on with life. Toss the #2 Phillips the second it begins to displease you. Go ahead and use the straight blade screwdrivers for prying and scraping with zero guilt.

Of course, like anything else there are higher level choices out there. If it brings you pleasure or you need the next level for certain situations, then buy Wera, Felo Wiha, Strap-On, Tekton, etc. I have Vessel for dealing with JIS motorcycles, Felo bit holders because they have the strongest, most wobble-free bit sockets, several Tekton because I like their soft handles, and a few other higher-end brands floating around.

I have got one of them they are really nice to handle and have a comfortable grip... but once I really hated Walmart, when I order it from Walmart and open it, A piece was missing in it... I got angry as I got my parcel delivered late, In anger, I called customer care, told them about it(shouted at them)... but then they said they will make return ASP... and told sir you can check our Walmart return policy, It says that you can return purchase anytime... and if you receive purchase and there is some part missing or it is broken..., so you can make a return... at any time on anything... I got my return done very fastly...

All depends. The thing is, the tips on cheap screw drivers go bad, and when they do, they take the screw with them. I had to explain this to my supervisor on e when he asked why I was ordering such expensive tools. I explained that it made no sense to tear up a screw on a million dollar piece of equipment, and then have to take three hours to painstakingly get that screw out,and the hopefully it was not some special screw that we had to order in, all because we wanted to save 20 dollars and buy a 2 dollar harbor freight screw driver. To his credit, he approved the order.

So, yes, depending on what you do and how often you do it, they might go bad. And depending on the kind of screw. Phillips are terrible screws to begin with, so they are the worst cheap screwdriver.

Overall, to be honest, how it feels in your hand isn't a measure of quality. Just individual opinion. Different people like different screw drivers. How it looks is just cosmetics. The only thing that's really important is the type of steel and how it's heat treated.

I'm anxious to pick up a set now and try em out. I actually like checking in on what Wal-Mart has from time to time. Not all of their stuff is bad. Just depends on what you're using the tools for.
