Hart tools from Walmart

I got the Hart 1/4" ratchet and socket set from Walmart because I needed a small kit with a case. I used it for my need and it worked really well. It has a 90 tooth ratchet, which was quite pleasant. Their hand tools have a lifetime warranty, but it's unlikely you'd ever break a 1/4" socket if you're using it correctly. I also got the 6" adjustable wrench (unpopular tool, but they're very handy) and I liked the way it felt and worked. It had almost no wiggle or slack in the jaw.

Has anyone had experience with the Walmart Hart tools? I like a bargain, especially when it's nearby. Small town problems.

I wish they would have put more effort into sourcing what made sense from the US, and with so many other options I am unlikely to buy their here today, gone tomorrow brand, but cheap tools have their place.

I saw that WalMart was selling some examples of Wilde tools under their HyperTough brand. I rarely enter a WalMart. I truly do despise that company. But Wilde pry bars in various lengths under ten bucks each drew me in.

Out of curiosity I looked at HyperTough online as well as in a huge WalMart in Florida and see an extensive line under that brand. This as they are phasing in and promoting an entirely new and unheard of line (Hart).

What are these companies thinking? I understand that most people buying hand tools at WalMart are probably not fussy and probably ill informed. That might help them sell whatever trash they prop up on their shelves. But I just never understood companies with zero consistency in their tool product lines. I tend to shy away from most discount auto stores for the same reason.

I noticed WalMart tool lane is getting bigger each year with more choices. Ever since Sears has gone CO. are trying hard to take over the Craftsman place.

The Hart utility knife blades are USA made.and work just fine. This was a pleasant surprise, but I didn't notice anything else.

I think it is very handy to have a nice tool aisle, even if they aren't top notch quality. Sometimes you are already at Walmart and find something you forgot you needed, or just to buy a quick tool gift for a BIL who always borrows yours.

Personally, I wish they had more USA made tools. And I kind of like that they change brands, since they normally put the old brand on clearance.

If I were going to buy tools at WalMart, I'd go with the Stanley line. At least it's a known quantity, probably ok for DIY use.

Hart is made by TTI ( Milwaukee, Ryobi, Hoover). Seem to get a decent homeowner grade review.
Glad to see them there. Can't have too many options when working in the field.
Have had Hart hammers and hatchets going way back.

Can't blame them for trying to get a slice of that cheap tool market share. My guess is that there is a strategic push to develop Hart as a house brand exclusive to Walmart. Get someone buying the Hart hand tools, and eventually they'll be looking for power tools. Once they start buying Hart power tools, the only place to get new batteries is Walmart.

Marketing department is already sponsoring at least one YouTuber - I saw a video not long ago where they were the sponsor and the guy used all Hart tools to build a shed.

At least the name "Hart" isn't nearly as annoying as "Hyper Tough".

I also detest Wally World, and I will not willingly enter the Abode of the Unclean.

But the Hart line of stuff is reasonable for the money, and consolidating around some sort of store brand makes sense.

Hey, sometimes life leads you to the point where you need a tool or car battery at 3:00am in some unfamiliar town. I generally try to visit Meijer when such occasions arise, but Meijer is a regional chain. Walmart is friggin' everywhere, and many are open 24/7.

Its sad really IMO considering Hart was one of the best carpenter hammer manufacturers, to have the name plastered on a load of low end mostly Chinese made stuff.

Regardless of how decent the tools may or may not be, I wouldn’t step foot into a filthy Walmart if the **** was free.

I don’t know where you live, but Walmart’s in Cincinnati are all a disgusting cesspool of degenerates and undesirables.

That being said, I do think it’s cool they’ve developed their own line of tools and I wish them the best of luck!

We had Hart tools in Homebase (UK diy store) for a few years when it was owned by Bunnings (Australian household hardware chain).

Looks like they have gone for new white colour scheme for the US.

UK and AU Hart tools are red/black like this.

Agreed, it's the name of the guy that invented the framing hammer, fer chrissakes.

Did Home Depot drop their line of crappy Hart hammers? I haven't looked in ages, and don't see them on the website.

It is same here, and everywhere else probably. I will do without before giving walmart my money.
Ask your local farmers what they think of walmart. You will get a strong opinion for sure.

Here in Virginia we see some weird people too on occasion I hate to buy stuff there but I still live at home and my parents won’t let me order anything online so I have too sometimes but I just go in and get out.

This. Harts used to be the class act of hammers. Perhaps the guy sold his name for a good price and is now off to Fiji. . .

I saw this parked at the local Walmart.

That's the exact truck I am about to buy -- short bed, regular cab, base XL trim. Nice color too -- Ford's signature color -- Flame Blue.

I think Milwaukee (owned by same co. as TTI) area merchandisers also drive F150s but theirs are red of course.
