Hartmann 4 1/2" Vise

I picked up this Hartmann 4 1/2" Vise yesterday from CL, it was too close and too cheap to pass by. I liked it because it's unusual and kinda cool. It's bigger than I thought it would be. It works, when you pull the lever it tightens up but if you let go of the lever, it loosens. It should hold. I will be taking it apart to clean it and paint it, but does anyone know how to tighten this up so it hold like it's supposed to? Thanks

Not sure on how to tighten it. But that is nice score. Almost a u ****. I bet on the disassembly u will see where it needs repair. Most likely a thread is stripped or missing.
