The following is from the Craftsman Club forum.

at the yearly tool fair the Waterloo tool box rep. got up and told the group that all their Waterloo made Cornwell branded tool boxes would be made at the new Waterloo tool box factory that was state of the art and the largest they have and it was just opened so get ready for the quality boxes start shipping from the New Waterloo Toll Boxes factory in MEXICO!!!!!!
He said all the tool dealers were fairly unhappy at this news but the Waterloo people were telling everybody how GREAT it was.
Man

I was doing some research since we have boxes dying due to abuse and was looking at less frequent replacement. I may have to be looking at another source and if I have to go out of the country, it will be for the least dollars possible. Another comment in the thread was that only the 26 and 33 inch boxes were currently made in the USA.

We should just consolidate with Mexico

Why don't we just take over Mexico and make it a state? This would stop the whining about products not being made in the USA and we wouldn't have illegal migrant workers.

My Cornwell dealer was telling me about this Mexico thing this week. He told me that the Waterloo plant that only makes boxes for Cornwell was moved from somewhere in the Midwest (he told me where but I can't remember) to somewhere along the Arizona/Mexico border and that 94% of the employees moved with it.

I received an auction flyer at work this past week. It was for some serious metalworking machinery at three Waterloo manufacturing plants, possibly in Arkansas (???).

Then we would just have legal occupied workers.

I say we should cut our losses and scuttle Southern California. Cede it to Mexico, and set up a real border at the top of the Grapevine.

Sounds like a very workable plan. You outta run for office! We could setup a 12' high barbed wire fence right through downtown Gorman and.......................oh hell, give 'em Gorman too!

that would make those of us in So. CAL. the illegals!!!

I could then abuse the Mexican system and disregard their laws!!!

I like it. I could go work for cash, disregard the laws, pay off the cops, live in squalor, have dozens of kids that Mexico pays to educate, free medical (I'd go to the ER when kid #8 gets the sniffles!)

I wonder if they built the factory to look like a giant toolbox, like the Longerberger Basket people did.

Sure..."downtown" Gorman. Do you mean the coffee shop, the motel, or the gas station? I've spent more time in that place than I care to remember.

I was thinking further up, at the crest of the pass. Seriously, talk of illegals and their impact on our country really means nothing without a defensible border.
Just my opinion.

Thanks for your e-mail. We do have a production facility in Nogales,
Mexico. They currently manufacture our steel portables, plastic
portables and portable chests. They will soon be manufacturing our 40"
and 52" cabinets. If there is a specific model for which you want to
find the country of origin, please let us know.

Thanks,

I think there were two locations. One of them was Pocahontas.
