I have, paid for a set of sockets, it showed up missing some of the sockets, and had one that was wrong. I was told he was going to make it right and never did. Just goes to show how much his word is worth. Sadly worthless people are all over. So did you pay with paypal?

Trust me, you're going to get burnt on flea bay too. Been there done that, had the t shirt but it was stolen. Yup post up his name, maybe it will motivation him to do the right thing and ship your item. I can understand people being busy and all, but maybe? If you got time to respond to a PM you got time to package up an item. Post offices are every where.

I will see what happens first. I will be relentless about it. It is really not cool to rip people off or not ship the damn item. The guy wanted to sell me more! I can not even get him to ship what I have PAID for. WTF

I bought a National Electric reel light from a member with Paypal. The light arrived fast in an unopened box perfect condition just as described! Thanks Speed-Racer:thumbup:

I'm so sick of getting ripped off on ebay.

Two weeks ago I won a ridgid pipe threader with 1/2, 3/4, and 1" dies that was described as "in good working order". Recieved it and the 3/4" and 1" dies teeth were all chipped and garbage. Emailed the guy and he said he doesn't know anything about these tools and it was an estate buy. Why the heck would you list it as good working order if you don't even know how it works.

Then won a stant coolant pressure tester and got that today. Item was described as works great and good working tool. It was all corroded on the inside and the seals were bad and won't build any prssure. Emailed this guy and told him I would like my money back plus my cost to ship it back to him. We'll see what he says, otherwise I will file a claim with paypal to at least get my money back.

Don't understand how someone can describe an item as good working order when they don't even know how to use it or try it out? The guy with the pressure tester obviously didn't test it because it is so corroded.

The guy has got thrown off or had a problem with pay pal, so I sent a money order. All I can do is hope for the best.
I will share the members name friday evening if I have not received shipping confirmation so, no one else has to deal with this guy or at least know what they are in for.

How many days are we talking about from the time you sent the money? How many days since he received the funds? (Big Holiday weekend??) Is the member still active here at GJ? I only know of a few members who can only accept paypal and they are reliable members. Have you been in contact with him via PM? I would hold of on bashing someone via the forum till your 100% sure your not gonna receive your item.

Paypal *****. We sold a item on ebay that was in perfect working order and when the person got it they said it was broken and when we asked for pictures they would never show any then we asked them to send it back and we would refund their money but they wouldn't do that either the next thing we know paypal deducted 250 dollars from our paypal account and gave back to the customer and they still had our product. Took forever to finally find a number to call paypal and all they said was they would look into it. Never heard anything else from them and never got our product back. When you looked at the person feedback it was like 50% negitive. My wife actually said she didnt feel good about that sale and I told her I was sure it would be fine but man was I wrong.

I have some of the same questions as Hiball. VERY few of our more well-known sellers are folks I'd hesitate to deal with.

How many days are we talking about here? I have waited a while to get things I've purchased before. If the seller is someone I trust, then I don't sweat it. I've also waited a long while to receive payment once or twice, or have received it in installments.

I have sold a lot of stuff on here. Few of the folks who have purchased from me would say they were unsatisfied. That being said, I don't always ship out the day after I get payment. The PO I use closes at 4:30. I don't get out of work until 3:45, and I am about 35 minutes away. So, sometimes I just can't make it. Or, I have to run straight home to watch my baby. I ship in the same amount of time that I would be ok with waiting for an item to be shipped to me, which means as soon as possible but no guarantees of overnight service.

So, to anyone reading this, don't buy from me if you want a guarantee of next-day shipping; I can't do it most times!

admin/moderators....please install the itrade vbulletin plugin so we can leave feedback from the classifieds.

Mods cannot do that.

BTW, you will have a PM later this evening. I am packing a set of ratchets first.

Ok tell the truth, how many of you guys did a seach in the classifieds to try to figure out the potential rat?

+1, I suspect you could look at the "Most recent viewed members" and figure out who looked also. LOL

I did a search (not of the Classifieds) but cannot tell.

I would be extremely reluctant to buy from a new member; those who are less risk-averse can have those deals until the would-be seller has established a track record of trustworthiness.

I never buy anything online which I need in a rush; living in Canada, it is not at all uncommon to wait 3 weeks for delivery from the US. That is mostly the fault of Canada Post - a truly incompetent organization.

Having said that, details are lacking here and I would not be too quick to judge in this case. There is very possibly a perfectly reasonable explanation.

:( That ***** to hear that you're having problems. I've had a couple sellers here on GJ ship a few days later than they said they would, but I've always got items that were as described or better.

I usually try to be understanding when shipping is delayed a few days. We're all just tool nerds buying/selling tools on the side. If the real job gets in the way, I understand.

But I understand getting impatient about items. I bought this SK ratchet on ebay and they claimed they shipped it on August 25th. The delivery confirmation said it was never shipped. It turned out they were telling the truth, and the USPS was just super slow in shipping it and never updated the delivery confirmation. I got the ratchet on September 7th, 13 days later.

I have bought from several people on here, including a couple of members in this thread. I don't do PayPal so it's always been with money order or check. Never a problem, though I don't buy from newbies either.

The one time I didn't get my item for awhile, the seller mailed me back my payment. I told him he didn't have to, but he did anyway.

I have had only one issue before. A ratchet fell out of the box and the buyer received an empty box, I had it insured and I sent a better ratchet in replacement.

Can you guys mellow out?

I deleted the post. I am checking on something. I sent a PM to the poster in question.

Don't get so hot under the collar, fellas. It's only room temperature in here.

The mods are right to delete the names. Innocent until proven guilty. Life happens, it can get in the way of many of the best of intentions. Wait until something is proven, one way or the other.

I have contacted the seller via email. I am a seller on e bay for a living(no tools). I ship when I say or when payed, PERIOD. END OF DISCUSSION.or I stay in contact. That is all I am asking for. to get a "maybe" response to shipping today is a little scary.Makes me feel like MAYBE it will be awhile or when they are good and ready.
Bottom line I paid for an item and was told it would ship out when the money was received now I get the "maybe today"

we will see what happens, believe me I will keep you posted.
This is how I roll

I have never been ripped off. In fact, most of the sellers are better than I am. I sometimes take a week to get things out and one tool polisher did not like the ratchet I sold him even though I desclosed it had issues and should get warranted. I had to pay the return shipping for him to send it back to me. Then I sent it to snap-on for a brand new one myself. I had one guy get mad because I used a dog food bag as box filler when I shipped some wrenches?????? I think the bigger issue is we seem to have a very high number of very high strung buyers. Several times I have had people breathing down my neck two days after they paid. But never have been taken here in any way.

Dog food bag? Big deal.

I had a load of ratchets shipped to me in a box filled with old plastic bags and lots of used plastic soda bottles. Now, that was gross.

I did a search of the OP’s post in the classified. My curiosity got the best of me. I think this is going to turn out good.

The post office can check if the money order has been cashed, you know..

Lest we not forget -

Mail fraud is an offense under United States federal law, which refers to any scheme which attempts to unlawfully obtain money or valuables in which the postal system is used at any point in the commission of a criminal offense.

I really don't think it is anything like that. I spoke with the seller to get his side of the story.

I asked him to keep the OP informed.

I figured as much, just posted it as a reference to those that think money orders aren't secure.
