Has anyone ever written a "primer" thread?

Hi. Been here almost ten years, bought some nice tools from some people here, still using them, thanks, et cetera.

After a decade of a leaky-roofed undersized garage with mismatched cabinets and bad lighting, I am two years away from building a big (4-6 car) garage with a lofted second floor gym/laundry/office/guest suite-- practically a second home that will attach to my primary home. It's going to cost an arm and a leg but I can finally afford it and I hope it will mitigate the shortcomings of living in an 85 year old house without a functional basement. I've lurked on and off here for a long time but of course I've ignored the HVAC threads and the flooring threads and things like that, to my detriment, maybe.

Has anyone ever written the magnum opus of Garage Journal? A how-to for a new build similar to mine?

(thank you)

To the best of my knowledge this has not been done, but several threads are on going with a long history of the development of the garages.

You might search for the 1930's garage thread by the driver of the large Boeings.

Been many threads by various members asking questions pertaining to their own build. Most just ask what they need to start a build thread in the Gallery section and post as they go.
