Has anyone seen a Simplex vise like this?

The neighbor next door to my parent house gave me this vise when I was 16. Ive had it for over 28 years at this point. It's a Simplex but Ive never seen another quite like this one. Its got a lever on the side and a knurled knob on the front. The knurled knob is the course adjustment and the lever does the clamping action. Does anyone else have a similar one? I always wondered how old it is too. Any ideas?

That vise is cool!
I don't have any info, but I'm sure somebody here will.
Looks like that lever would give you a lot of clamping torque :thumbup

That company might still be in business, give them a shout and let us know what you find out!

In looking at it closer, its says 41-P. I assume that is the model number? I wonder if it correlates to the date of manufacture?
