The uni-bit in the drill press is exactly what I was thinking. I've drilled tons of holes in all kinds of stuff and those holes won't be too hard at all.
As for the holes in the center, I haven't considered that being an issue. I was hoping the deeper 2-1/8" boxes would give enough room for whatever I need to do.
