Has anyone used these pneumatic strippers?

I have a small restoration shop and a large tool addiction so as always I'm looking for new tools to improve productivity, convenience, and versatility of my small shop. I've been eyeballing these things for a while now and I'm tempted to buy one to try out, but before I do I thought I'd ask the members here to see if anyone has used them and what they are like. Mainly, how long does a $26 stripping wheel last and how fast/slow are they at taking things down to base layer.

Also, how do they work on rust?

These are the two I found, both from TP tools.

FWIW, I have no concern about using them to remove decals, that wheel will probably never be used.

These are industry standard at this point in time and are primarily used for removing seam sealer using the stainless steel brush a task for which they work great. No personal experience with the Scotchbrite disc or the eraser wheel as I specific tools for those but every bodyshop I've ever been in that's serious has one with the stainless stripping brush and uses it extensively for seam sealer removal.

The eraser ends up smearing and burning adhesive, making it harder to remove. The wire brushes are pretty damn nice, never had any experience with the TP tools version, just the snap on one called the crud thug.

One of the former techs at the body shop that my son works at had one. It worked great for removing seam sealer. I was shopping for one when my son said I could borrow it.

There are a couple of brands out there, Dynabrade being one and another imported from Germany (can't remember the name). Shopping around the web you will find a large price variation for the same product.

Thanks for the input, I'm just wondering if it's something that will actually get used or if it'll be yet another tool in the shop box that gets used once a year like some of the other tools I've tried out in the past.

Theres a new tool from Eastwood that's been making the rounds the last few weeks, looks like a large grinder/polisher body, with a barrel at the end for different abrasives that looks really intriguing. im not sure when it will be available and its not on their site yet, but it could be worth the wait! I think it comes out next week sometime, under $200

Gene Winfield testing it out!

saw the Monti at SEMA, they said you sharpen the 26$ wire abrasive essentially get months or longer out of it.

the eraser he said had alot of cooling technology built in compared to competitors flex in the wheel and and speed designed to not burn jsut remove. i watched it and it worked as they said great product.

Thanks for all the input, I'm still mulling this one over. I'l probably go ahead and pick one up and give it a try, they aren't too expensive and if it helps, even on occasion it's worth having around.

The second one is the style I like, online with the handle. The wire brush is great, the scotch brite works too. Decal wheel not the greatest.
