These 50-100% price hikes at Harbor Freight are insane. Did Eric Smidt suddenly develop the worlds' worst coke habit. I'm stunned - This can't be for real, but, it does seem to be. Did he forget what made Harbor Freight Harbor Freight?

The old prices didn’t look sustainable to me.

Has there been a press release or something about a new strategy? One that maybe tries to turn a profit?

On the other thread about HF ratchet prices I saw where someone posted a link to the Oct price changed and man some of the things on that list was over a $200 increase. Something is definitely going on and it won’t be good for them

I clicked the link this morning but didn't look real closely. A few things I checked were slightly more expensive, but just now I looked at the list a bit more closely.. their 12k lb winch went from $549 to $999 for instance.. wow! I wonder if maybe there was some kind of issue and the pricing got screwed up? some of this can't be right

I often have my head square up my *** so there's a very very good chance I'm wrong on this but isn't the 999 winch an entirely different animal?

Here's a screenshot I've attached and I can't seem to see what's what. It only adds to my confusion.
I'm often wrong and just say things, so maybe this one is just my lack of knowledge and me dog piling into the fray.

And even worse I'm unsure if the $299 winch coupon is on that $549 winch.
I confuse easy.
I'm sad I had to take the time to look this up so I'd know about that winch price increase being a real thing. I often have to look up things. It's kind of a habit before I spew things.
Someone straighten me out please.:dunno:

I wish they'd raise the quality of their products by 200 percent and increase the prices by 200 percent. They'd still be dirt cheap, and like 1/10th the price of paying for a pro to do the job that you need the tools for.

I thought it was in regards to their pricing lawsuit a few years ago. They've gotta actually list products at their "retail" prices. Everything was basically permanently on sale.

They've still got coupons that reflect these new prices with the old prices.

What was the last three hf tools that failed you, and how?

Has anyone stopped to think this could be an online pricing error on random products? Not everything in a certain category went up look at generators for example, the 9000 watt is cheaper than the 8750 watt, I spoke to a few people who said in-store prices do not reflect online and the yellow daytona is still $209 in store

They have two 12k's - one went from 399 to 599 and the other from 549 to 999

I was a bit skeptical till I checked using waybackmachine. I'm referencing the Daytona 3 Ton low profile, long reach jack. Increased ~56% in price.

March 5th 2020: $179
https://web.archive.org/web/2020030...ional-rapid-pump-floor-jack-black-64781.html/

October 1st 2020: $279
https://www.harborfreight.com/3-ton...sional-rapid-pump-floor-jack-black-64781.html

this is from the hf coupon database site:

https://www.hfqpdb.com/price_changes

There's a huge list of stuff that has gone up on there. That jack for instance, we just paid $199 for a green one like three weeks or a month ago

..... might be tariff related ? or Sourcing ? Weaker Dollars ?

I never understand the commodities market, how these contract things work.

But yea pretty much disappointed at HF price increased here too...

But then again Look at all these Lumbers 100% - 120% increase in some cases. And my ever disappointment on the EMT since 3 years back. ( Yes I have a post on this 3 or 4 years back )

Edit:
The online prices and store prices are now the "fake " normal prices the real prices are in the online catalouge. Which lists everything on "blowout" prices and "on sale" this is more than likely due to their price lawsuit.

As is usually the case..
But someone who doesn't understand how hf works decided to take a stance based on the The retail price they'd be a fool to pay.
Anyone who pays 999 for a winch on sale, with a coupon sitting right on the checkout counter...or even uses that price as a stone in the hf aimed sling....

And the 599 winch is 299...as it generally has always been.
Man, Jc Penney pricing on ******* is out of line! Oh! Wait! They're on sale for 79%off....
Ribeye marked $15.99 a pound on sale with your store card for $5.97, those bastards.

Someone, anyone, tell me how hf is different than your grocery store.
I paid $2.49 for a six pack of 20ounce Mt dew Yesterday.
Those stupid short 6 ounce(?) Cans were 6.49 a six pack.

I am astounded by what astounds some of you.

There's a facebook group that was posting about some hike in the USG prices but it appears to be a glitch.

At the end of the day it pays to be a smart consumer and if items there are now at a price point you don't like then don't buy them. Find a better option or do without.

Of course it's at that price.
This
jump on hf thread
Seems to be perpetrated and supported by people who don't shop at hf enough to know how coupons work.

Maybe because every other retailer lists and sells tools at prices they can support without requiring a coupon for every purchase.

Buy. Those. Hf tools. At. Retail.
Just go to the store cashier and tell her you're not interested in their games and pay the retail.
Get back to us about it.
I usually don't get their free item, so I actually kinda pay more because I want to.
You not using a coupon, me not using a coupon, same thing. Don't use the coupon.

Hf lists the retail price of tools and you're free to pay the retail.

Just ignore the coupons and be happy with the retail other companies list.
It's about happy. If you ignore the coupons you'll be happy.

If you see this as a tools only thing....

There's a big difference in scanning one card and getting a sale price on everything vs. needing a coupon for every item you purchase. And there plenty of stores that sell at reasonable prices without needing any kind of loyalty card or coupon, and typically those stores do very well.

You don't seem to know how buying things at stores works.
Maybe someone with more patience can explain the Sunday newspaper supplemental.

Wrong. Look at the ad. The non-coupon price is 1199. There is a pricing glitch on the website it hasnt jumped 90% out of nowhere.

I for example I use 76 fuel stations for diesel I use their app and link their app to their credit card and loyalty card this gives me 40 cents off each gallon.

Also shop at Safeway use a phone number so they can track my purchases this gives me about a 40-60$ savings each trip.

This new scheme is a legality only I doubt anyone will pay retail prices. The only coupon hf ever made me scan was the 20%

I guess you've never shopped at a Trader Joe's

Trader Joe's accepts manufacturers coupons.
Why don't they just lower the price to the coupon price instead of making you cut out that coupon?

You can probably stop now.

I suspect it's to build retention by providing active interaction with their marketing materials. They're making a game out of it.

That's just my immediate thought, though.
