Got some insomnia going and a few Sears gift cards. 3 hours of surfing sears and I can't find anything. Got a few ideas if all else fails but seems I could find something I actually need instead of just burning them.

So far I can only think of a multimeter or an indexing prybar.

Am I missing the section there with all the cool stuff?

Yeah sadly I find myself in the same situation with Sears. Especially, the sales flyers which have the same old same old stuff. If I had it I'd probably use it to stock up on missing sockets. But, you probably want something more neat then that. Examine your current projects or projects you want to tackle in the future find the ideal tools to make your job easier.

Thats just it...I cant think of anything.

I have their master socket set.
I have their master wrench set
I have a full set of pro wrenches
more vise grips, pliers and cutters than I'll ever use.
My ratchets are Snap On
A drawer full of various hammers.

There's a few things I want, but Sears doesnt carry them (36" extension for example)...so IDK.

Maybe I can fill in my 1/4 drive swivel sockets if they still have 'em online?

Perhaps impact swivel sockets, 1/2" and/or 3/8" drive. Maybe some Gearwrench items? How about some coveralls?

Yeah I have had good luck with the craftsman 1/4 swivel sockets. I've used them probably 3-4 times a month with my cordless impact. Not supposed to but decent so far. The snap ring pliers are pretty decent. Aside from sockets I'm not a big sears customer.

Maybe some Hanson socket trays?

I've got impacts covered too (not impact swivels, but impacts and a bunch of swivels)
Gearwrench....I have about 200 different gearwrench ratchet wrenches.
Coveralls at Sears dont come in size ogre :(

When the situation calls for it, I would use an impact socket with impact u-joint but sometimes that assembly is too long or bulky. Impact swivels can sometimes come in handy in tight quarters. I prefer not to use non-impact sockets for impact purposes. Anyway, it appears you don't have impact swivels and you were looking for something to get. :) So, something to consider.

Yes, get you some of their nice impact swivels in 3/8" drive.

Edit: And if you don't have a 3/8" gun, then get you one! They're all I use anymore

Do not **** on the figure 8 wrench as being a gimmick. 1. In the road bag it frees up alot of room. 2. When you are putting a dock in and out and the hardware is not uniform, it is better than cresents and multiple socket bits. Not as bulky as the dogbone. Very solid tool. Also works well with the stuff on the engine stand. Warranty is for life so pound away on it.
Another tool not to **** on as a gimmick is 35359 wrench. 1. Frees up lots of room in the road bag. 2. Works well on rounded off stuff. Warranty is for life so pound away on it.

I have had both tools since Christmas and for engines on the stand and teardown have found them useful.

Also, if another guy is working with you it keeps him out of the toolbox if he has the equivalent of all these sockets and wrenches with 1 or 2 tools. I REALLY get angry when a guy I am working with loses one of my tools. I still have PTSD over a buddy losing one of my NAPA USA punches.

Admittedly the speed wrenches for from the 90's were not a great purchase, but still useable. Just do not try to figure out in your head how they work. Just mess with them until they work right. Unless you are close to snug they do not work. Once something is snug you do not have that many turns left.

If not, can I have the gift card?

I tried looking at alot of those brands and the ones I did look at were marketplace only, and I dont think you can use the gift cards on marketplace items? If so, that changes everything...?

I'll have to think on some impact swivels....
And I use my 3/8 Mac impact quite a bit :)

Wow I absolutely didnt think you could use giftcards on Marketplace items, that totally changes things and I now have my 36" SK extension on the way :D

Forget using them. Buy what you want and need then give the cards as a gift to someone else. You can always buy cloths, electronics or use them towards an appliance. I get 4 for Christmas and before the day was over I slipped them into other cards and gave them away. I would spend them money for a gift and all it does is shuffel the monry around. You are still ahead becasue you did not spend money of gifts.

Forget the thought. I don't count.
When I use a gift card it always cost me more money. I always buy something more expensive than the car is for and end up shelling out money. It is for things I really never need or want.

I wish people would not give me presents.

Not trying to target your post at all so im sorry, but if you have to find a use for a tool then its useless. Unless its a specialty tool then it should have more than just one use or only useable in one situation just saying.

I am about run though on tools Sears carry I want new, so I would be waiting for a good sale and pick up clothes at one of the outlet stores. None are really convenient to me, but if I am in the area I'll stop into one, and last time picked up Craftsman jeans for $9. Other times a Dickies shirt for $6.

I got a Sears gift card this year too. I bought a few Gladiator brand wall mount organizer strips and some small parts bins that clip onto the strips. I used them to FINALLY organize a shelf that had been literally piled with those little boxes of fasteners (nails, screws, hardware).
