Has me stumped what is it ?

Got my father in laws dads tools awhile back this was with them. His dad worked on everything from heavy trucks to tvs. This tool was with his tools it is air powered and when you hit the trigger it opens the 3 prongs up. Have never seen anything like it before and can't find anyone who can tell me what it is used for. Would really like to know so if anyone can help would be grateful Thank you

the only thing i can think of is putting wires and pull the trigger to twist them, someone should tell exactly what it is. i'm just guessing

That is my guess, for twisted pair wires. Keeps wires per switch/unit together in the twist.
