Has this Vise been Repaired?

Local seller has an Athol 42 for sale and noted "Thought it was a repair at first but no signs of a crack inside of the slide."

Does that look like a weld?? At the very least it looks like a weak spot on the slide.

No expert here but could be a transition in the casting from the flat 90 degrees slide to the dynamic front.
pictures from other angle or other side may help.

I agree that it is probably repaired.
Athol 42 is an old model vise. Does it have a long threaded stem that mounts to your bench with a big swivel handle underneath to tighten and loosen the swivel function? There might be a patent date on the side.
Do you have any pics besides that close up?
