I asked about redundant sockets and while they didn't say it explicitly I think the silver lining suggested that I get a bigger or possibly another tool box.

Buying tools is like *** in a few ways.

The more you do it,the better you get...duh.And,the more you want it.

Seriously,I run into people that have maybe bought 1 or 2 "tools" their entire lives. Its like they're afraid of them or sumthing?Or afraid they might make a mistake and buy the wrong chit....buy it and then figure it out.Did that work?.....No?Go back and buy whats needed.

For the most part, tools don't eat anything. You can always sell them....replacing them with better(I'm back to the ***/wife analogy so better quit)..........

Agreed...damn GJ...I was on the Tool Truck Wagon for 5 years...of course I step on one to get a quote on something and the next thing I know he's coming to the office every week....Damn...speaking of which, he should be here in an hour or so..LOL

It is very much like ***...I also compare it to a drug addiction...except only difference is instead of a Drug Dealer, my "Dealer" Comes in a Tool Truck...and if I overdose I just have to deal with the wife yelling at me asking why I need this or that. I wont end up naked & toothless in a ditch... :)

I thought it was going to take me a LONG time to fill my 3 tier craftsman box (I am just a DIY guy)

I filled that thing up in months of joining this site, and it is FULL to the brim, now I need another bigger box lol.

Damn GJ, I love this place

Yea I hate it too sometimes. Who really needs 40+ ratchets and still shops for other styles. I still use the same one as always but love to collect them and the many other tools I have collected. I too had to add a 44" roller and move some stuff around to make everything fit. This is in addition to the box I already had. At least now I'm not wasting a drawer to store masking tape. Ha.

I joined up in December. At that time, my old Waterloo tool box stack was full but I could get by, even if there wasn't room for everything.

Since then, I have more tools and as of last week a brand new 56" Tool Vault chest from Strictly Toolboxes.

I also bought some wrenches and etc. I saw deals on here at the site when someone posted them. Guy could go broke......

I cleared some junk out of a couple old boxes and am tossing a number of things not needed out of the way, further out of the traffic lanes. I cant buy any more even at 1$ a piece that would make me any more money. Nothing I cant do that I want to because I dont have a tool for it.

Had a competitor stop in the other day, he looked around and said,,, what are you doing, what you working on. Because the place doesnt look packed to the gills with **** like their own shop it doesnt seem busy, we clear the work in an orderly fashion and remove the remains when we are done, put the tools away and sweep the floor, very few long term things sitting around the shop floor just refusing to put themselves together. Every once in a while it happens but I have a gear shift and deal with it when things become obsticals to our general work.

The goal is to keep the bays empty, seems contrary but if we got something that takes up men and space I try to move it along, you cant keep up if you are behind to start with.
