Haul master load binders

I have 3 of the load binders pictured. I tighten the load and screw down the thin brass colored collars to "lock" the threads. They do not lock the threads at all. I don't see a locking mechanism on these binders at all. What am I missing? Has anyone used these. They were on clearance at harbor freight last yr. Thanks.

They ****. Bought one in an emergency, returned it and bought the fixed handle ratcheting one. That version by haul master works fine.

I buy thousands of dollars worth of harbor freight tools each yr and nothing has been as useless as these load binders. If I'm using them the correct way ( which sounds like I am) they should have lawsuits galore against them for safety. I suppose everyone tests their load before they leave and find out they are worthless.
