My Porter Cable Drill Press table has a hole that is threaded in the trough area. Does anyone know what this for.I assume it's a drain for oil?

Yup, more than likely. Thread a barbed fitting in and push on a short length of hose to a bucket if you plan on using coolant or oil.

Yes it is to plumb for a drain to the coolant sump or catch tank.
