Just brought up the latest replies and half of the threads were in Chinese. WTF?

Makes you wonder if all they can do is print in Chinese, meaning they have a key board with Chinese characters, how the heck do they figure that we English speaking folks are going to read that? How the heck were they able to pass the "Type in the characters below to prove you're not a robot" to becoming a member?

Good job. Looks like he was posting whilst you banned him. I got his last post you missed deleting. You missed another post on page two about some other weird thing. I think it was on health supplements. Watch them (health supplements) come in thick and fast now they have found the forum.

No background checks, no calling in references, don't even ask for I.D. When they're writing Chinese on here, it's time to call in a dumpster just off the rear door to the forum in the alley, lay down some plastic, because ****'s going to get messy, dawn the safety goggles and do a nice gut shot. Then call serve pro, and tell them to bring a power washer, and lots of help! :lol::lol:

I've never understood spam. Do spammers really think that someone is going to buy their product if you pi$$ off the intended target?

Some times we have to do the background checks so we can watch fror scams & spams from the same location. Log on names can that way be banned even before they post.

It is all to make you click on the link. Often the link is not what you think and takes you to a site that tracks you.

yeah Im mostly in the same boat with you except for a few caveats...

yup. Some spammers get paid for clicks. Others just make up random **** for the fun of it with no monetary gain.

Ill never understand the waste of time. I still remember the day when spam didnt exist....:(

The forum I administrate at, I check every chance I get for new members, access the administrator control panel and check the I.P. and if it's from China, India and a couple other countries, I post a watch alert for my staff to keep an eye on them in the moderators lounge. Quite often they'll join up but not post because that gives up their I.P. so they just lie low for some time, then strike, usually in the wee hours of the morning, when most folks are sleeping, then hit. One tool available on Xenforro is a discourage mode that makes access to the forum a bit more difficult and frustrating for the person selected, encouraging them to leave. On my forum, I find that a lot of people join, even folks from the USA, and they private message with others, but won't ever post. I'm about ready to have a conversation about this with the site owners, because I believe some unorthodox subject matter might be getting passed off undetected.

Watching an IP address can be interesting. Noted a few lately profile may state one country but the IP address will state another place. We have many here that never get to post and even get banned in the process of joining due to the fact they can not hide and have posted rubbish before.

Hotfr8 I have a question for you! I've twice now accidentally logged out and forgot my password. Both times, I went to the "Retrieve your password page. There is a spot to put in your email address, then just below that, it says in blue "Human Verification" but there's no images or letters, nothing, and the blue highlighted "Human Verification" cannot be clicked. First time around, I just opened another account with the same user name. Bad move! I got banned instantly! Apparently frowned on. I kept sending messages explaining things and Ryan got me set back up both times. But how do you get beyond that page to reset your password?
