I am having a problem with this Craftsman adjustable wrench from the 1950s. It is a patented wrench by J.H. Williams with a locking pin. Sometimes I work on too many tools at once and forget how and what makes a tool work again. I misplaced what keeps the pin in place, but think it may have been an e clip. The wrench is an AZ in a circle and was patented in 1955. A person was able to get the wrench to the correct size and then lock it in place by pushing the pin. Cleaned up and working now except for placement of my missing part. Do you have one and can you help with part and placement? Thanks Guys.

I have a Williams or two at home I can try and look tonight if the chaos stays low.

Sorry, just dug into this last night, needed take the filter off the ice maker. At quick glance, I don’t see what holds the pin in place, from either end. Will look for the patent later, see if it has anything useful.

It appears that split ring #27 may be the key to holding the pin in place. Won’t have time to look again until this afternoon.

Wewww, three minutes of free time. Here are a couple of shots of the split ring #27. Think it is a C clip. You can see the back side right end of the knurl in the first pic, and part of the front end in the second, on top of the knurl.

Blow them up big to see clearly.
