Having issues with my Carrier Weathermaker 8000

Anyone know these things?
Every once in a while the unit will not start up... Meaning the temp has dipped below the setting on the thermostat. I can unplug it and plug it back in or pull the blower door off tripping the door switch and putting it back on and the unit will fire up and run for several days or weeks then I'll have to do it again.

I am pretty handy but sometimes need a point in the right direction. Where should I start on this one? Could it be the thermostat?

Next time it hangs up on you, don't reset it! Take a look through the little window in the blower door. You'll see a red LED flashing. It's a two digit error code. Count the flashes, pause, count the flashes again. The error code will be listed on the inside of the blower door.
