Yes it is I paid $600 for a new average 100# anvil last year and had to truck it home in the back of my truck for 1200 miles. It's no Hay-Budden. Made sure the top is flat and the sides are clean & square.
I'd like to have a big anvil, all I'm using now is an 18" length of railroad track; but I just don't have room for it. Here's the CL listing if anyone else is interested. I don't know anything about anvils, except I've been told I could screw one up. This one looks pretty heavily used and the worse for wear to me: http://shoals.craigslist.org/tls/3711976738.html
Hamilton is in NW Ala.
Good Luck,
