Hayward pool pump and heat pump control?

Has anyone messed with automating Hayward pool equipment? My parents place has a Hayward vfd pump and a Hayward heat pump heater.

I’d like to be able to do some remote control for some set backs on the temperature and run times.

Hayward makes an integration device called an omnilogic but it’s pricey and seems to be met for controlling several items. But the pump and heater do have at least some networkability.

Anyone know of some DIY solutions or third-party controllers?

Water weighs 8.34 lbs at 20,000 gallons = 166,800 lbs
1 Btu per lb to change temperature 1 degree
changing temperature from cooler to warmer takes alot of energy and time with a heat pump.

I am at a loss as to how this helps the OP at all. Or was this just an attempt to seem intelligent?

To the OP, the aquacal HP I am having installed shortly has a wifi controller that was about $200 and would also control an aquacal pump, if I had one. Is the omni logic their version? How much is pricy?

Depending on how it gets control signals, I would imagine you could build some automation with a raspberry pi, but I wouldn't expect the reliability and integration of an oem solution
