just wondering if what would you prefer on a 3/8 deep well socket Snap on or Hazet if you can get them at the same price?

For me it would be snap on. I can get them every Friday from the truck, and can get warranty every Friday if I ever need to.

Don't have a clue where I would get hazet.

Even better, I can just go out to my road box, already have the snap on 3/8 deep well in there! They've served me well for 10 to 15 years. They were my first snap on set, convinced me that it would be worthwhile to look for more, so eventually I got a full set of 1/4". I still prefer my proto in 1/2" drive. I think I've broken only one of the 3/8" set in the time I've had them, it was a 1/2". I've also broken one or two of the Proto 1/2" deep in that time, so it might be a size vs strength thing for that particular socket.

The hazet might be better for you if they're available. I can't even see them to compare, so not going to work for me.

I'd go Hazet to be different. Don't see Euro stuff around too often. I like the matte/satin chrome... but I also tend to like German made things. Nothing knocking the Snappy, while I like their products as a general rule, they aren't the end all, be all. Lol.

Snap on will be easier to warranty when broken out of ease but hazet will be stronger and outlast them warranty aside

I would be happy with either, but... I'm in the U.K. and a Hazet is almost exactly HALF the price of a Snap On!

If they were the same price I'd have the Snap On without doubt!

One thing I've found you can't do is mix and match makes. I've got a SO FX80 ratchet and the smaller sized sockets like the Stahlwille 10mm can't be removed without prying. I did some measuring and the square drives are slightly different size standards despite all being 3/8th. Facom sockets, on the other hand, fit perfectly on the SO ratchet but a bit lose on the Stahlwille 435 QR N

Snap On, Nepros or Koken - all look fantastic in the drawer.

To use on those dirty rusted fasteners - just something cheap, and durable. Taiwan made perhaps?

I have a set of deep well wrenches from Toptul and they have been great. They are Satin finished so they are closer to Hazet or Stahlwille than they are to Snap On in appearance. In function, they are equal to anything I've handled and the bonus is that the full set cost me under a hundred bucks. I'm sure the tool snobs are already hyperventilating that I said that but I'll put the Toptul's against anything I've come across. I' think I'll take Wifey out to a nice restaurant with the money I saved. Cheers!

Snap on. I use mainly craftsman chrome sockets. I Just pick up a Newer used set of snap on 1/2" standards in shallow and deep, and I have to say I really am impressed by the fit, finish, and weight it is quite mind blowing compared to what I'm used to. Not to mention the chrome is so much better quality... I Never understood why people bought snap on sockets as there prices are crazy.. I have a few, but now I really understand why.

I own both brands in torx, going with the assumption that the quality carries over equally to other sockets.

I love Hazet and will defer to them on most things. With that said I'd choose snap on due to there appearing to be less wear marks after use. May be wear marks not dear due to the satin finish, but they are a tie otherwise.

I'd give the tie to Hazet if having the knurling or thinner od matters to you.
