Anybody know if the current Hazet ratchets, such as the 8816SP, have plastic or metal direction switches?

I believe only the fine tooth ratchets are metal selectors

But contact member jensputzier he can give you more details on metal selector ratchets

I've got a few of the regular 36 tooth ratchets in the past few years. The 1/4" is plastic and the 3/8" and 1/2" are metal.

Agree if you want to know for sure on current models ask Jens.

The round heads are nice but honestly if you want a decent old school pear head ratchet get a Cornwell. Its not made in Germany but the action is much nicer.

Thanks for the input guys. I guess if I decide to purchase I'll contact Jens first since I planned to buy from him anyway.

The Hazet action is not as good as the Cornwells, eh? What style ratchet would you say is more similar? Matco 36 toother? Craftsman?
