Hazet wrench

Got a Hazet v-10 wrench today and some one told me it is from a Porsche. Can anyone tell me more about this wrench. It has 8 and 13mm ends. I did another search and found they are in a lot of German cars?

That v-10 was a Hazet designation for an economy style black oxide type wrench which was found in many auto tool kits. I had one in my Porsche 914 as well as in a VW rabbit. You could go to the tools of old world thread and ask Monte --he is knows his German tools. I don't think it was in any of the expensive Porches and wasn't marketed towards pro mechanics. Any time I go to self serve junk yards I look for those tool kits!

Apparently so, I posted a thread as I keep finding a lot of these Hazet tools, and the almost always have a big disparity between the two sizes. I got a dozen or more in that toolbox stack I bought a week ago Sunday, and more of the same, mostly 8 X 13's, but some other sizes too.

Hazet wrenches are like the German equivalent of Craftsman. I have a ton of them from when BMW actually gave you wrenches in the tool kits of the Airheads. My favorite wrench for adjusting the valves on a Boxer Twin BMW is my Hazet 10MM box end.

Found these recently... posting to document difference in production. Same wrench pre (bottom in both pictures) and post (top in both pictures) 1965 logo change. Photos are after cleaning, bluing, and oiling both.

A couple of my VW Beetles came with Hazet 8x10mm wrenches. Some VWs came with Hazet 10X13mm wrenches also. Most BMW come with Heyco wrenches.

Millions of these were supplied as standard tools in German cars,
but their quality was only mediocre for their intended purpose.
They are nothing like the wrenches used in professional workshops.

Some of my VW Bay window T2 bus 1967-1979 size 10x13 -
have also smaller ones as yours without photos for my VW Karmann-Ghia 1955-1974

Those old car tool kit wrenches are like the infamous Ikea Hex keys. Everyone over here has one lying around somewhere.

Lot's of them over here as well; same for old Ford wrenches supplied with model Ts and As. Other car mfg's, not so much. They are round, but not in quantity
