Just wanted to share some pics of my new garage floor. I used 3 coats of Legacy Industrial HD-40 burnished, then topped it with 2 coats of Cherry Wax and buffed.

Legacy Industrial's "HD40 Concrete StainGuard™" is the ultimate densifier, stainguard/sealer for your polished, terrazzo or smooth power-troweled concrete floor. Ultra small molecules allow maximum penetration and protection. There is no mixing with our product. This product is a green material and that means no harmful chemicals to worry about.Coverage: 400+ sq ft. per gallon. Apply using a pump-up sprayer and our easy to use micro-fiber pad/applicator. The user must burnish this product post application, using our burnishing pads, for an amazing looking sheen and excellent resistance to most garage chemicals. Use our micro-fiber mop/pads to best apply this product. Please check out this video to see the entire application process!

Run down to HD and rent a buffer and grab some burnishing pads

Step 1 was apply product
Step 2 Use burnishing pads on product
Step 3 Apply Cherry Wax for concrete
Step 4 Buff floor

Create a high gloss sheen on concrete surfaces with environmentally friendly Cherry Wax. Apply great-smelling Cherry Wax to achieve a quality high sheen that resists wet and dry traffic and produces a smooth polished look that lasts for months without maintenance.

If I'm reading correctly the Cherry Wax over time would need to be reapplied and buffed?

The wax would need to be reapplied if the surface is heavily used, although the HD-40 polished up very nice by itself. The wax gives it just a bit more pop, and feels a bit more grippy when you walk on it. I am surprised how hard that wax is. It is more like a clear coat, kinda dries like paint. I have an old Mustang on dolleys and was rolling it around the floor. It didn’t even leave marks!

That looks awesome! Thanks for sharing! I'm probably going to do the same for my garage.

Nice job Zupdave! I can't pick a product that needs re-coating every few months otherwise I'd consider that.

Can you give an example of what to expect as far as maintenance and wear?

New slab, power troweled garage floor approx 4000sqf.

I'm also considering using it on the interior of the house. It is also new and power troweled.

Also a rear exterior deck that is power troweled and has a roof over it.

Thanks for any input!

Great applications, all.
I would add a coat or two of cherry wax to protect against scuffs and make the floor more grippy.
The wax keeps the HD40 well protected and extends the life.

Both can be burnished although the wax is optional, can be applied and left alone.

Obviously, vehicle traffic and wrenching puts the most stress on these products, might have to re-apply at some point if usage and spillage is heavy. Oil is not the issue, gas is.

Hope this helps.

Do you have a 'before' pic of the concrete? I'd love to see how, if at all, the HD40 impacted the shading of the concrete.

Finishing out basement and I'm looking for the lowest effort, highest performance coating... thinking HD40 might be the ticket!

Beautiful!

in the photos, it looks like there's a lot of color variation. Is that from a die or from the HD-40 or something else?

How slippery does it feel to you? I like the look, and will be pouring a slab for my house, garage and shop. Do you think this would be slippery next to a sink (if there was some splashing) or in a woodshop, with sawdust on the floor?

I'm curious if a dye was used as well, because it does look amazing. I'm wondering if using a dye would help as some contrast/dimension to my project. After seeing this product on a few applications, I'm sold and will be buying some to do my floor. How was the spread rate on this? The product site says 400+ sq. ft. per gallon, and the time lapse video says 500+ sq. ft. per gallon, so I'm a bit lost on how much to get. I see you have control joints, did you do anything with them such as filling them, or just left it as is?
