I have owned my hd9 for a little over a year now and have been pretty satified with it except for one thing. No matter how I adjust the cables, when the lift is completely lowered, my cross beams do not rest all the way down onto the floor/base of the posts. So when I pull my car onto the lift , the ramps will sometimes shift a little because they are essentially hanging on the cables.

After talking with bend-pak, they say all four corners of the beams should rest on the floor/base of the posts; however, I was just watching a video of the HD-9 on the bendpak website, and you can clearly see the lift cross beams do not reach the floor.

Does anyone else have this same issue??

Also, how many nuts does your lift have at the 4 ends of the main cables? My lift came with 2 nuts for each cable end, but apparently, some came with only one. If I use only one retaining nut, I can get my cross beams on the floor (or very close) but will only have a thread or two of the cable end protruding from the retaining nut? As it is, my lift cross beams are 1/4 to 1/2 inch off the floor on the ramp end .

Mine rests right on the floor plates. How far are you away from the floor plates? Can't you loosen the top nut some more so that the ramps will lay flat? Let us know how much more adjustment room you have. Also, lower your ladders a bit and readjust your cables accordingly. More than likely you've adjusted the cables so the locks all engage at the same time and with the ladders being too high you've shortened how much downward travel you're allowing from your cables. Best of luck and keep tweaking it until it works for you!

On the floor plates, two bolts on each cable end. And +1 on what ovilla wrote.
