I'm guessing their perspective is that they don't want to be undercut by competitors through prior knowledge, but realistically, the buys for the black Friday goods were made probably 4-6 months ago, and all the ads are printed, so your competition would have had to done the same bulk buys to meet your price points.
At this point in the game, it's more about attracting people to the stores, there's more upside in letting your customers know what's being offered. Given that everyone else has released ads, I doubt many people go for the Russian roulette game and rather go where they know they can get a deal on the item they want.
Exactly. Let shoppers come in with a game plan, you're likely to sell more if they can compile a list beforehand.
And yeah, at this point Lowe's isn't gonna see some deal and suddenly switch up their BF sales to compete or beat - - it's WAY too late for that.
